  1. He told the guy he didn't see what happened and was not going to comment until he saw the race film...That's the right thing to do.  The interviewer kept pushing the issue...trying to bait Tony.  Props to Tony on that one.

  2. I just answered a question on the same subject. So in order to save time & effort I copied my response. Here it is:

Tony's changed & in a good way. I believe he's calmer & he's grown alot. This time 9-10 years ago, or even 5 years ago I shudder to think of what his reaction would have been. His attitude when he 1st started in the cup series was the entire reason I couldn't stand him. But the last few years he's earned alot of respect from me. I'm still not a fan, but I like him alot more now than I did then.

His response today was actually close to something I would have said my self :)

    WAY 2 GO SMOKE!!!!!

  3. over paid driver my rear. He has won 2 championship since 2002. tony's not stuck up thats just tony..

    GO SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Well he did say that he hadn't seen it yet and didn't want to comment on it at that time. Now, this may just be me, but the way he said it reminded me of a snake that is just about to strike. He gave Marty a warning, and Marty chose not to take it. After that it all went downhill for Marty.

  5. No Stewart was not being s****. or whatever.  He clearly stated that he was in his car and did not see what happened.  He basically said that he wanted to see the footage and decided then.  As for Marty trying to get under Tony's skin, he TRIED.  Tony just put him in his place.

  6. it depends on your definition of s****. or Stuck -up. If you mean a "wimpy dude" I would have to say no. You may have been taught that terminology from people you associate with, but, those same people apparently never shared their views with you on how to handle the media. I think Tony did the best thing without telling them to "F' off". Remember, professional athletes/sportsmen are not expected to be spineless wimps. When your dealing with your career, you respond with conviction. Not all of us are out to please the public and fill their ears full of fluff. There just isn't time to play like that. Leave that to the movie stars and actors. NASCAR fans respect reality.

  7. Marty Snider was being a jerk, he tried to get Tony to say something outrageous, Tony knew he was being baited and took the high road...

  8. Say what you want about his interview but, he was being baited and he knew it.  Marty was an idiot and it showed.

  9. no he was not he was a unfortunate person in the wrong place at the wrong time and the accident happened behind him in a turn and the reporter continued to ask him the same question? Give me a break you would get annoyed too!

  10. The idiot is you.

Marty asked a follow up question and obviously didn't listen to the answer that Stewart gave.  Stewart called him on it.

I praise Stewart for not spilling his stuff all over the place the way he used to, and still sometimes does.  He said he didn't see the replay.  He had just gotten out of the car, was obviously frustrated, and probably pretty pissed off, but he held his tongue.

    Good for you Tony.

Now bring us a win or two.  It's time for you to get hot.

  11. h**l NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marty was trying to get Tony going and basically Smoke said I am not going fall for this and get myself in trouble with Nascar again.

  12. I don't think it has anything to do with being stuck-up or 'over-paid'. I just think this is how Tony is - he is famous for his short fuse, that's one of the reasons he is such an interesting driver!  Though I agree, he was a little overly harsh to Marty....wasn't really warranted in that situation.

  13. Typical Tubby Stewart- Do as I say but not as I do. He should go back to driving Indy cars but I think he's become to WIDE to fit in the chassis

  14. Kudos to Tony!  I think he did very well.  This only goes to prove that the media is to blame for most of Tony's outbursts.  Over-paid (payed?)...I don't think so...he has earned every dollar.  He drives his butt off!

    Go Jr.>>>>

  15. No He did not.The Reporter ask him a question he answered and then the reported ask him again.Tony told the reporter the 1st time he ask the question he don't know till he watches the tape.Tony is not stuck up or s****.,He is a upfront and honest guy and don't hold back what is on his mind,He is not fake like some of the drivers! Would you not be a Tad upset if you was a driver and this happened to you? Here he is in 2nd place 6 laps to go right behind his team mate and boom someone runs into you!!!

  16. The pit reporter baited him. Marty knows Harvick and Stewart are buds. He was just trying to pick a fight.

Give Smoke credit. The old Tony would have decked him.

  17. No. What happened was Harvick over drove his car. Tony was right. The reporter didn't know what he was talking about and Tony quickly told the reporter that he didn't know what he was talking about.

  18. Marty did a S****y thing as a journalist. Tony was kickass and did the right thing and didnt comment. I can think of another "s****. Stuck up Over-payed driver" out of the Toyota camp that would have blamed McMurray.

  19. I don't like Tony doing that "meany boy things". He should drive the #33 for Richard and Judy {CHILDRESS} next year since they have a job opening. Besides it's a new car and everything but hey yeah he should take "being nice" lessons. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELLA SOFIA GORDON - Jeff Gordon's daugther who turned one on Friday!!

  20. I think people are taking an interview that lasted all of 20 seconds WAY OUT of all purportions!!!!!

Look, the interviewer was doing his job... trying to make a story... no wait... a reporter is supposed to report the facts... he was asking about... no wait... I'm all con-fuzzled!

As for Stewart.... I say... GO BACK to Indy where you came from and quit s******g up NASCAR!

    GOOOOOOOOOO J Gordon!

  21. These guys get asked the same stupid questions 100 times a day.  Tony answered him.  In my opinion this guy was trying to get Tony to spout something about Harvick.  He was baiting him.  Tony didn't bite on it, so he tried again.  Tony called him on it.  Tony can be arrogant, but as far as the media are concerned, he's pretty much figured them out.  The interviewer had it coming and in my opinion, Tony let him off pretty easy.

  22. I think Stewart is getting frustrated, and it dosn't help when he has a reporter trying to egg something on.  I think he did a good job.

  23. Tony can be a bit of a jerk at times , but today marty the guy doing the interview was seemingly trying to instagate the whole thing i was proud of stewart for not blasting harvick and mcmurray in the interview .

  24. Hoe do you figure? The reporter was trying to instigate a fight between him & Harvick and he defended his friend. Seems like a good guy to me.

  25. Are you kidding me?? WTF?? Tony was understandably pissed off!! Stupid reporter, should know better!!

    Go Kasey Go!!

    # 9 all the way baaaby!!

  26. NO! The interviewer started it by right away mentioning that Harvick caused his spin. When Tony respectfully answered, the interviewer tried to INSTIGATE by pushing the fact that this was the second time that Harvick did this to him.

Obviously the media knows that Tony has a short fuse and they drool at any reason to light that fuse and get him going. Tony did  OK by me to shut that stupid interviewer down. GOOD FOR YOU TONY!

  27. A s****. stuck up Over Payed Driver? I don't think so.

Tony Stewart is know for his Short Fused Temper but he was still young. I think he has learned alot now. Marty was just trying to make Tony fall for something that he didn't fall for.

  28. How are people getting at this sh((*&(!??? Marty was trying to stir up some c**p between him and Kevin and Tony knew it. Props to Tony for not falling for it. Him and Kevin are friends off the track and I'm sure they will get it worked out between them, WITHOUT the medias help.

  29. Stewart did exactly what other drivers (Kyle Busch particularly) should do everytime they get out of the car and have to interview about an on track incident. I am so tired of drivers talking first and not knowing more about what happened than what their spotter or other crew members said.

  30. Tony was baited. This c**p has to stop by the networks. Classic example of a second rate moderator getting away with shite.

    Tony was class.

  31. Kevin just made bad judgement in that turn, he was trying to pass David and it just didnt work out.

    Good Job Tony
