no the NRL and the visiting team pay for accommodation ect.

Yeah, I agree... i seriously doubt it.  Sporting teams are corporations.  If 2 companies are sending people to a conference (e.g. game), each company would be paying for its own accommodation.  

If I was paying for a visiting team's accomm...i would prob find the crappiest .5 star pub I could find.... :)

No each NRL team pays its own expenses out of money from sponsors and from the NRL itself
