I don't know why that would be relevant but I don't know. You should do some research or at least try to get in contact with his son or the station and ask about his associates.

Yes. He did. I saw a special where they had some of his closet friends with Dan Rather and there was a black woman speaking about her friendship with Time.  He had one black friend. I sure he did. MSNBC has black employees. He didn't seem like a racist type of man to me.  He seem very friendly and came from love.  I heard he was a Christian. Isn't Christian suppose to love all races?
