  1. Universal’s studio parking lot was hit , destroying a vault full of video and television images and parts of a popular studio tour, including the studio’s King Kong attraction.Thats what i heard.

  2. (the one in LA burned, not the one in Orlando)

the king kong exhibit burned down, and so did something else....no rides burned down though

  3. part of it did. im pretty sure it was the new yourk section.

  4. the TOUR RIDE wuz the part that wuz burnt down, not all of the park

  5. These were burnt down:

    * New York City streetscape: Used in countless movies and television shows. This set burned once before, in 1990, and was rebuilt.

    * King Kong: The King Kong exhibit on the Universal Studios tour. The exhibit included a 30-foot-tall moving model of King Kong.

    * "Back to the Future" set: The town square, including the courthouse area and the clock tower that plays a central role in the film.

    * Video vaults: These vaults contained videos of numerous Universal-produced TV series and movies. Firefighters managed to remove some of the videotapes. "Nothing is lost forever," Universal President Ron Meyer said of the videos.

    * Soundstage: At least one full soundstage.

The fire erupted about 4:30 a.m. Sunday on June 2nd, 2008. The Backlot Tour attraction and the whole park are still open, but the only thing different is that the Backlot Tour ride will not go through the New York Streetscape like it did previously before the fire.

  6. I believe just the backlot studio part got burnt down. That's because it's mostly made out of wood, and it just burnt down because someone was blowtorching something, and it started a fire.

So, thus you can't get on the Backlot Studio tour anymore because that's burnt down.

By the way, this one is California, and NOT in Florida. There are 2 Universals in the US.
