Did WCW still have Sting drop from the ceiling after Owen Hart's death?

I never watched WCW during the Monday Night Wars because I was a WWF guy but I heard that Sting, during his Crow gimmick, would come down from the ceiling on a wire. Did WCW still do this after Owen passed away?

  1. I recall Sting not going anywhere near the rafters after Owen's death.  Whether or not he did in late WCW history is questionable, but there was definitely a time where he stopped doing it.

I know for a fact that he's came down from the ceiling in TNA quite a few times, but usually not in the traditional way.  Now, he has this platform thing that he's lowered down on.  They rarely do it, but he has done it in the past 5 years.

  2. He did it on one episode of Nitro a year later.

  3. I believe he did. I recall going to see WCW right before he went out of business and he did get lowered from the rafters. He may have stopped for a while after Owen's death but I believe that he has done it since Owen had died.

  4. I'm not totaly sure, but after a fall like that I don't think WCW would ever pull something like that ever again.

  5. no sting decided to stop after the death out of respect for bret because they were in the same company at the time, he rarely does it now thats why tna turns the lights off when he comes out to make it seem as if he came from the ceiling

  6. no.. sting kind heartedly sought for bret's opinion & bret said  that if its ok with him (sting) to do it & he feels safe to do it, there is no way that he'll prevent him from doing it.. but the well-mannered sting prevailed & he never did the stunt again to give respect to bret who was working with him in the wcw during that time.. i do have an old interview of bret citing this matter & many others.. i'll email it to you as soon as i had it copied..

additional note: my answers is kinda outdated, i'm sorry.. sting had done the stunt roughly a year later after owen's death but its not the traditional way that he used to descend from the ceiling..  they've made it lower..

  7. No, I think he stopped doing right after that.
