Did William Randolph Hearst ever serve in the Armed Forces of the United States?

A seller on eBay claims to have some property of Hearst's for sale - I cannot find evidence of Hearst's active duty. HELP!!

I don't believe he did.   A reputable seller on e-Bay should answer any question you have before you bid on their items.  Send an e-mail through the site (Ask Seller a Question)

He did not.  I have read an extensive biography. Instead of finding out yourself ask the seller to cite a source that proves what he's selling.  Hearst was famous for starting a war not fighting in it.
