  1. We can't comment after watching just one series. This young team India may have snatched this ODI series away from Sri Lanka, and that too at their own home, but it was the very same team of youngsters who lost the previous 2 ODI series-the Kitply Cup against Pakistan, and the Asia Cup against the same Sri Lanka. So, obviously, it can't yet be concluded that guys like Dhoni, Badrinath, Raina, and Virat Kohli are the perfect replacements of the big 4-atleast not in test cricket.

Players of the class of Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman aren't that easy to find. The reason why this young team seems to be more successful is that now there is a better teamwork amongst the players, as everyone contributes to the success of the team. Previously, it was only the big guns on whom the entire pressure would be upon, due to which they often collapsed under it. Now, there isn't much pressure on individual players, and that's why they are performing well as a team.

  2. they miss sachin

  3. Yes. As Dhoni & Suresh Raina won the 4th odi VS SL bowlers.

  4. no

  5. To be honest, not a lot of the younger players showed the potential to become the next Dravid or Ganguly, and certainly no one threatened to become the next Tendulkar, but we should give them time, and they looked solid enough to win against Sri Lanka in Lanka, which is always a challenge. With all the new limited overs talent coming in from around India, I think the ODI team looks to be in solid shape though!

  6. i dont think dravid , tendulkar or laxman can be replaced in tests .

but in one days gambhir replaced ganguly and dhoni replaced dravid .

but sachin cannot be replaced .

  7. The young players cannot replace the seniors of the Indian cricket team. I reckon India could have had a better result with their seniors in the team. The current team is good but it lacks experience.

  8. Young guys like raina, badri and kohli are pretty promising... but obviously not of the class of the three big guns of india. The big guns might be going through bad form... but form is temporary, class is permanent. They certainly will have to replace them in the near future when the oldies retire but probably they might not have the consistency that the old guys had!!
