Did a Soanes marry a Lincoln? Abraham Lincoln family tree? NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY?

Ok, so I was recently told by a relative of mine that I am closely related to Abraham Lincoln. At first I didn’t believe this, but as he dug out some evidence (such as our family's coat of arms - The Soanes family) it began to fall into place.

My grandfather claims, that His great x4 grandfather (my great x6 grandfather) married the half sister of Abraham Lincoln.

Ive been doing some light searching but honestly don’t have the time to dig up a proper family tree of the Lincoln family, and being of mainly British decent I'm not massively clued up on my American heritage.

Does anyone have a detailed family tree of the Lincoln family, Including brother/sisters and in-laws, so that I may check this information and see if I am related to Lincoln, or if my Grandfather is just babbling on in his old age?

Also please don’t say "ur grandfather is lying hes old dont believe it" without doing any research first. You cannot make those claims without evidence, and I’ll just ignore you

Like the first person said, there ARE 4,295 World Connect listings for Abraham Lincoln on www.rootsweb.com, BUT there are several who are nothing but bare bones with no info to speak of, or they are simply repeats of info. So, here is what I found:

I didn't time tonight to do Mr. Lincoln's mother's side of his family (took me till 3 a.m just for this). So, unless it was on his mother's side, or one of the many children in these generations who married the person named Soanes, I couldn't say.

I don't know if you are or are not related to Abraham Lincoln.  What I do know is that you asked your question 5 hours ago and at the time that I am penning my response, not one person has responded.  This is highly unusual, but maybe the way you phrased some of your query might have something to do with it.

I can see that being British might put you at a semi-disadvantage, but you have told us that you have an opportunity to find out more, but you don't have time to "dig up a proper family tree of the Lincoln family...".  

Seriously, if you are not interested enough to begin your own research, why would the folks here take our time to do this for you?  At least that is my first thought.

Even if there are people here related to Abraham Lincoln, it does not mean that they would have the portion of the tree you would need.

It is not enough to find the name of his half sister, but you need to connect that person to your grandfather or his father, if you have his name.  Many folks just concentrate on their own branch of a family tree.

Also, the Coat of Arms thing is discussed in this category at least several times a day.  To find out more about what Coats of Arms actually mean, you might want to do an internet search.
