I've heard elephants and dolphins are just as smart, if not smarter than humans.

  1. Did an elephant tell you that, or was it a dolphin?

    Nothing's smarter than a sheep.

  2. Some people and animals still do.

Elephants and dolphins are there, as well as a lot of others.

    Good question

  3. You might like this book, Kinship With All Life, link below.

  4. I'm pretty sure ancient humans just killed animals so they can eat them.

  5. no.

    just no

  6. Probably if you believe in the EVOLUTION of mankind. If you believe the RELIGIOUS one, then Adam and Eve might not have talked to the animals.....who knows maybe God gave them the ability to lol. But maybe for the evolution side of it cause didnt we evolve from apes? Apes are animals...so they could talk to animals I think. haha hope this helps!

  7. I talk to my pets.   Sure, they don't speak English, but they can make themselves understood when they want something to eat, want to go out, want their backs scratched, etc.

The fact that they don't always do what I want them to do does not mean that they did not understand me.   They can be willful, just like human beings.

  8. They could then, and some still can.  Although the ability seems to have been lost by many thru the generations, some have not lost the sense.  I speak from my own experience with many animals.  Although I've never yet been near a real live dolphin.  I should like to test it with a dolphin, but moreso a whale.  Their communication skills are awesome.  Cats and dogs have spoken to me, as well as birds, horses, etc.  But since I live in upstate NY, I've not yet been near a dolphin or whale.  And I did have an elephant speak to me as a child when the circus came to town.

  9. well there are people now days that can talk to animals. dogs mostly. but i guess dolphins and elephants are just really sensitive to humans and if your really sensitive to animals and really in tuned with your 6th sense i guess its possible.

  10. I'm sure they did.  Just as we talk to our cats and dogs today.  I think they really understand too, don't you?  Interesting question.

  11. anybody who tells you that they know the answer to this is mistaken in thinking that they can know, theres no way to really know. there are no recordings proving either way. I would think the answer is yes. just because thats what makes sense to me. but i don't know either.

  12. Don't believe that ever happened.

  13. You've been watching way too many Disney movies.

  14. Probably, the but real question is if the animals understood them and talked back!  I talk to animals too. My dog understands some basic communication (sometimes) and has his canine ways of communicating back to me. My cat pretty much ignores anything I say  :)

  15. I still talk to my dog and cat.  I talk to my computer to...(stupid thing!), and the TV...

  16. Only while man was in the Garden of Eden... after the fall of man (Adam & Eve's sin in the garden) this ability was taken away from the human race.

For those of you that believe in evolution- there is no question here, you used to be an animal!

  17. you never know they mightve i mean look at how far we've gotten with monkies now, some know sign language, some are even toilet trained

  18. yes.  look at how smart monkeys and dolphins are.

  19. Yes in the time of Adam and Eve before they ate the fruit of knowledge.

  20. i have some doubts on that, but what do i know. i think ancient humanity were no different from other basic species of organisms at that time. being such, i think that since they were separate species--all in which cannot communicate due to uncommon traits, something we've noticed in current times--  they would be unable to communicate with each other, humans including. i guess thats pretty blunt. hope i helped at all

  21. i'm sure they did cos i also talk to animals which is now you know...its all in the head. But what would they say to animals? stuff like, brace yourself cos I'm about to eat you!!!lol

  22. No more than they can now. A caring, intuitive person much like a 'whisperer' can readily determine an animal's thoughts and mood, and respond accordingly. This isn't ESP, it's taking the time to listen. Love and patience goes a long way.

  23. SOme might have I mean spending all that time in the wild with them, they must have found a way to communicate

But then again they might have been very primitive and just ate the animals

  24. You heard wrong.

Elephants and Dolphins are NOwhere near as intelligent as humans.

Apes are the closest to Humans in intelligence, and even the smartest Chimp would be rated well below a 5 year old child.

And no.  Humans never talked to animals. (Well, of course they could TALK to them, but neither understood the other)

    Except Dr. Doolittle of course.

  25. Talk, maybe. Communicate with accuracy and clarity, no.

  26. Ancient humans were still developing their own communication among themselves as it were.

Although I have a feeling dolphins would be thrilled if we could understand each other. Given their weird liking of humans, and sporadic stories of even wild dolphins saving a person...

  27. They cannot speak or show emotions the same way we can; so therefore, they are not as smart emotionally and we don't speak the same language; but they are very intelligent. Not sure about elephants, but we can love on much deeper levels than animals. we can show compassion; animals do not. We know various emotions like embarrassment, excitement, romance; animals do not. they live a more simpler existance; but that is not to say they are stupid; they are intelligent; but they are not comparable to humans. I'd say it's better to compare species than human to animals.
