I watched the O'S every day when I got home at 1.30p.m. I feel a little bit lost now because there is nothing to capture my imagination. Are you looking forward to 2012?

  1. No.  Hubby controls the remote.  He doesn't like any of that.  But, it doesn't matter.  Not many events I would have cared to see.

  2. My wife and I did watch several events. I personally enjoy Winter Olympics more, but it was real nice to watch. I like the women's and men's marathons. I don't understand why Table Tennis/Ping Pong is considered an Olympic sport when you compare the swimmers, gymnastics, runners who really work hard and tough for years.  I always thought Ping Pong was a relaxed "sport" to play in the garage with your family and friends. But yes, to answer your question, I am looking forward to 2010 for Winter and 2012 for Summer.

  3. No, and isn't it a relief now it's over? In my job, it's essential that I keep up with the news. I get my UN News letter every day, but during the Olympics there was sweet FA on most TV channels (and I have about 90). I ended up watching 'al Jazeera', which wasn't entirely Olympic free, but did still have some half-way decent news programmes.

  4. No I am glad they  are almost over..

  5. I did watch them in the evening. I wish I would have had a good schedule ahead of time so that I'd know what events were going to be on at what times. While  I did enjoy them, I'm ready to get back to more varied programs again. It seemed like there were either pre-season football or repeats on while the Olympics were being televised.

I also enjoy winter sports so I'm looking forward to the winter Olympics next.

  6. I've been watching!  It's been fun.  I want one of those beautiful silk dresses that the Chinese helpers are wearing.  Those are incredible!

  7. I'm in the same situation as you! I had been watching the olympics regularly, and now I'm left with a massive gap in the day which I would have spent watching athletics usually. I'm just enjoying the free time I got now because soon the summer's over and it's time for school again.

  8. watched some of the highlights ,to boring to watch the whole thing .

  9. Yes, my fav was basket-ball and depressed when I saw "Howdy Doody" sitting in the stands with his daddy!!  The "beat around the bushs"!!!!

  10. Definitely-I may be recovering from sleep deprivation for weeks

  11. I was going to but every time I turned it on, an event that I didn't care for was on. I can watch baseball anytime, and basketball. I like the track and field events, gymnastics, but somehow I never got to see much of it. My hubby always seemed to be watching something else. Oh well.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  12. We watched the Olympics every night. This is the first time we have kept track of the Olympic events in many years for several reasons. It was held in China- a country known for crushing religious and human rights, eating pets, pollution and other negative connotations. We also wanted to see if our American swimmer would achieve 6 gold medals and of course, he exceeded the goal. It was wonderful seeing Gold medals going to runners from countries like Kenya-in political turmoil.

  13. The winter Olympics will be in Canada in 2010.  We love to watch them too.

We too are wondering how to fill the space.  It doesn't take long to get into a habit. We will spend most nights out on the front or back porch.

I do have a lot of unfinished projects concerning photo albums and videos of two summer family weddings.

I will get back to reading again.

I stayed up list night and watched the US basketball for Gold.

Waiting anxiously for NBA basketball season to begin the last part of October.  That keeps us busy till in to the June playoffs.

    Good question.

  14. I did follow the olympics, but do prefer the winter olympics more.

I got tired of watching the same old thing, gymnastics, don't like basketball or volleyball either. I like the decathlon, and running venues, and of course the swimming. with Phelps. I don't want to see BMX bike racing. water polo or fencing.  I hear England is already getting ready for "12"

Nothing else was on TV anyway except re-runs, and I don't have cable, so they pretty well had a lock on the TV schedule.

Now we all can look forward to the Presidential Conventions next week, Ho-Hum. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ   Some more bring speaches and promises that will never be kept. Some more pontificating, and back slapping to see who can get on who's good side.

How boring is that, just an excuse for a party and to waste some more money we don't have.

Lets just bring on the new Fall shows and forget the rest, would be fine with me.

  15. We watched the olympics every night. Its too bad they don't have more of the different events on. like weightlifting and the decathlon etc.

  16. Nah. Not my thing at all. I don't see it the way most people do. I don't like sports that much.

I'm just glad its over and the TV can get back to normal. I did see the wrestler throw his medal on the ground and the karate guy kick the ref in the head but only cause they were on the news.

I have plenty to capture my imagination. I'm an avid reader. Why don't you try your local library. Find some historical whodunits.

I recommend a series by Marilyn Todd, the first one being "I Claudia". You will love em I bet.

  17. Some of it, but not all. Some spectacular displays and sports. Generally, prefer the winter sports. Looking forward to 2012 in U.K.

  18. I watched Olympic breakfast on the BBC . Yes 2012 should be great and I will be down there from Glasgow.

  19. No. The IOC is already whining and crying they need more money because the Chinese have won more gold medals . Waaaaaaaa ! I live in Colorado Springs, their headquarters and training center. What a bunch of poor sports.

  20. Didn't follow them, I only watched diving and relay's

  21. no i didnt watch them

  22. Well done by all the counties.  Winter games in 2010.
