i know it's been awhile but i just wanted to know if anyone noticed it. ok so the first 3 game cross town classic. cubs vs. white sox. why is it that the cubs destroyed the white sox on the second day. and then on the second 3 game cross town classic the sox won all of them. isn't it a bit strange that cubs and white sox won all 3 of there home games when it's clear that cubs are better.

  1. The Cubs dominate at home, so they swept the first series. In the second series, the Cubs had to go on the road, and they suck on the road.

  2. It's clear the Cubs are better?

The Sox are 59-45 in the very strong AL, where the Cubs are 62-44 in the suck-*** NL.  That's not "clear" to me.

And - there's no way that it was "set up".  What is this, the JFK assassination?  There's no conspiracy here.

You want conspiracy theories?  Go to the NBA - with refs fixing games, the alleged number 1 draft pick going to New York/Chicago, the refs also allegedly trying to make sure that NY/LA/Chicago are in the finals every year when there's a chance.  I'm not saying that baseball is clean and pure (steroids, etc.) - but just because 6 games of a season went a certain way doesn't mean that there was a "set up".

  3. Yes I found it a little strange. That they won all the home games considering the Sox played so much better than the Cubs.

  4. As another poster already stated it's all about home and road.  The Cubs are the best in baseball at home and have been below average on the road.  The White Sox are pretty similar as well great at home and below average on the road.  That pretty much sums it up for you right there.

  5. its jus a game don't analyze it

  6. It's a bit ironic I'll admit. But I highly doubt that it was fixed that way. The rivalry is so string in Chicago that it's just intimidating for cross town players to play in their home town yet have an away game.

  7. Because the Cubs are incredibly good at home and they are incredibly bad on the road.

That's all there is to it.
