  1. Hydrogen fueled cars exist only in episodes of Star Trek-- Honda is building a fuel cell (hydrogen) car and will be leasing them for $600 per month (as a test). The cars cost $500,000 each to produce-- Honda says in about 10 years they may be able to get the cost down to ONLY------- $90,000!!

When your grandchildren are about 40 years old -- this energy resource MIGHT be viable at a reasonable cost.

  2. Electric vehicles are a long way from becoming a reality, particularly in large numbers in harsh climates.  Besides the safety concerns, there are multitudes of other problems that need to be resolved.  Eventually they may be worthwhile, who knows?

If we used electric vehicles...where would we get the electricity to charge them up?  Can you imagine having a world full of electric cars plugged in overnight...the grid system would be taxed badly and would fail.  It can just barely keep up with our current electricity demands in many places.

Not a bad idea once they develop cars that actually work well and can drive at normal speeds over long distances.  But until then they are slow roadblockers with severe safety issues.  There hasn't been one built yet that can be used safely in even a light snowfall.

  3. nothing you can do to change global warming.  not to mention, the earth has been cooling for several years, ever since the sun's activity has cycled back to slow.  in fact, run your vehicle to keep the earth warm.

when we don't have anything between us and the sun besides pure atmosphere we'll lose crops, animal species, ocean, starve and have the highest ever incidence of skin cancer.

  4. Converting card to work with Hydrogen is one thing but you can run diesel engines on a Cooking Oil + Diesel mix.

Have a look on google... some guy was doing it... wasn't as bad for the environment and it smelt like frying chips.. but he did get a fine! LOL

  5. I agree, I also like the hydrogen cars, there is a company in the UK converting Ford Focus' to hydrogen for a little over $6k, with a reduction to $4k when production is increased.

With the lower price of hydrogen, plus better mileage the oil companies are going to have a hard time competing.

Add to that an electric moped that will travel 40 miles on a charge, and only cost 1 cent a mile, perhaps we will see a lot more moped on the streets very soon.

  6. The answer is simple, but its costly to put in place. That's why it wont happen.

Right now you cant run every car in the world on hydrogen. All it takes are a few minor modifications and every car could be switched over. The hydrogen can be easily produced using a solar power plant or a nuclear power plant.

All existing power plants can be done away with and replaced with nuclear power as well as wind and solar power plants. If we took those simple steps, the problem would be solved.

The reason you wont see it happen. Money!!! Cars run on gasoline and the oil producing countries of the world wont allow it to happen. In order to maintain the hold they have on the world. They will drive the price of oil back down to $30 per barrel if they have to. Because if they don't and the world does switch. Those countries will die.
