  1. not the scientist really..

,someone told me that  the end is near.. anyways,i didn't believe.

,and don't think of the end pls.. just enjoy your life to its fullest!

    :))

  2. scientists didnt estimate it. the mangyan did. they said that in the seventh day of the seventh month in the mangyan calendar, the world will end.

  3. They certainly have!

The Earth will end in about 500 Million years.

The pollution we produce and the resources we consume have no effect on the earth as such. All they do is make it harder to inhabit. We will surely overcome our mess if we adopt better usage of our resources and stop the population growth.

The end of the earth will be from the SUN.

The Sun is growing continually and will eventually consume the earth. Scientist are a little vague on the exact moment but are constantly monitoring the Sun to get a better estimate.

Maybe a collision with an asteroid or meteor will send us off our orbit, or worse still, create another extinction period.

What ever happened to the scientist saying we were headed for another Ice Age?

    Cheers

  4. Yes,  they have recently released an updated estimate of the end.  It goes something like this:

As the sun ages, it will gradually expand transitioning from its current position as a yellow dwarf to the position of a red giant.  As this occurs, the increased pressure from solar wind will push the Earth into wider obits.  This orbital expansion will not, however, be fast enough to outrun the expanding solar atmosphere, and eventually the Earth will be moving through the outermost layers of the expanded sun.

The drag from passing through this (relatively) dense atmosphere will slow the Earth's orbital speed causing it to spiral toward the suns core where it will be consumed.  Best estimate for the final end 7.6 billion years from now.

Long before that, however, the expanding sun will raise the temperature on the Earth to the point where life as we know it is impossible (real global warming).  This is expected to happen in 1.0 billion years.
