Question:

Did anybody really watch Palin's speech?

I've heard people say it was all attack and she didn't say anything about what she's accomplished. Here's what she actually said she's done in Alaska:

"Our state budget is under control. We have a surplus. And I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending, nearly $500 million in vetoes.

When oil and gas prices went up dramatically and filled up the state treasury, I sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged: directly to the people of Alaska

And despite fierce opposition from oil company lobbyists, who kind of liked things the way that they were, we broke their monopoly on power and resources. As governor, I insisted on competition and basic fairness to end their control of our state and return it to the people

we began a nearly $40 billion natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence."

ummmm, maybe it's just me, but those sound like legitimate accomplishments as governor. So, tell me, what has Obama accomplished? That's just a question, not an attack.

  1. Here is what Obama has accomplished:

  2. I am very proud of my governor!  Her speech was amazing and made me feel so proud to be American and actually made me almost cry.  She knows the way, knows how to lead, knows what to do.

And I am confident that John McCain can lead our country and put our country first!

    McCain/Palin 2008!

  3. Her scope is so limited. All she talked about was drilling, her brief political career (i'm sorry, being a mayor and a first term governor IS NOT ENOUGH for this position), her family, and most of all, bashed Obama.

I thought her speech was boring, condescending, sarcastic, and trite. Yes, she may have delievered it well, but it was empty. She said what people want to hear. All full of holes.

  4. the state budget was already under control before she took office so that was a lie..

"Gov. Frank H. Murkowski says that the state will see a $1.5 billion budget surplus this year"

    .........................................

no building has begun on the pipe line and actual construction is years away, if it ever happens. This summer the Alaska Legislature, at Palin's request, passed a bill under which the state will issue a "license" to a Canadian energy company, TransCanada Corp., and pay it up to $500 million as an incentive to someday build this enormous project, which Alaska politicians have long sought with little success. The license is not a construction contract, and federal energy regulators have not yet approved the project.

Palin also puts the price tag for the project at $40 billion, an exaggeration. This is roughly $10 billion more than most cost estimates industry players and consultants have made to date.

    so again she lied
