Did anybody tried chantix for smoking quitting, please advise your experience?

I used Chantix to quit smoking. I was reluctant to start on it because I am wary of any prescribed drugs. I ave a friend who used Chantix after smoking for over 40 years. He was a 2+ pack a day smoker. I figured if it worked for him, it would work for me. I had great health coverage so I visited my doctor. My prescriptions were $20 but the doctor gave me a coupon card distributed by Chantix. For the first month I took my pills as scheduled. I was done smoking after three weeks. I have continued the 2 a day since but I forget to take them but I don't have any desire to smoke.

The only bad experiences I had were that I would feel like I was going to throw up for maybe 3 or 4 minutes after taking the pills at first. I drank a full glass of water and I was fine. I also had very vivid dreams. Like so real that I had to wake myself and know that it wasn't reality. That has all gone away now though. I am smoke free and proud of it. I now have more money to spend on things that won't kill me.

Fight the fight and get through it. You, and everyone you know, will be very happy that you have quit.

I have not tried it, but I did see one of those attorney commercials the other day seeking people who have taken Chantix and suffered something, because of it. Cannot remember what it was....sorry.

An aunt of mine took it and it made her very sick on her stomach.

Sorry, I don't think there are any pharmaceuticals out there that are safe, so be careful.

I cut down by making myself not smoke in the house or the car. Maybe you can make a plan like this instead of taking anything. Hope you do good! I know it's so hard, I'm in NY, our packs are almost $8 a pack so poverty will be my smoking aid ; )
