Did anybody try water producing electricity?

i saw the voltmeter deflection when i put two leads in the water.deflection is more with salt added.defletion varies with type of lead material.

  1. It doesn't create electric current. I wish it did or we wouldn't be fighting over oil. What happens is that ions dissolved in water allow current to pass through it. When you put salt into water NaCl (Sodium Chloride) these two ions break up and allow current to pass through the water. The current comes from another source. The water is just the medium (the thing) through which it passes.
