i remember hearing john force talk about humpy asking him to bring a car and driver down to check out the progress on the new drag strip, and to do a burnout in front of the fans before the 600. i now see the news article about it:

http://www.nhra.com/content/news/29245.htm

was anybody there to see this? had you been to an nhra event before?

i love the sound and feeling of 43 cars pushing 800+ horsepower each roaring by on the track, but i WILL NEVER forget the sound, the smell, the heart-stopping feeling that tears through you like thunder and lightning when a 7,000+ horsepower funny car puts the pedal to the metal.

anybody else have the same experience there? anybody convinced to go see an nhra event at the new speedway once it is completed because of this?

just curious...

  1. This is off topic but, it's the only way that I could get a message through to you. This is in regards to the comment you made toward me on the question " who hates Kyle Busch" where I had made a joke that you would be making your remarks soon. The reference made that you must be sick or ill referred to the fact that you have made over 650 inserts in under a month. ( my son brought this to my attention) He was thinking that you must have NO life to sit in front of a computer and make that many entries. I told my son that maybe you were sick or injured. I could really care less either way, I was just joking with you however, I would like to remark that you frequently whine about how other people irritate you with their posts but, you do the very same thing they do, day after day, For instance...You made a comment about people coming back in after they have made a post and making further comments...You have done the very same thing yourself.

This site used to be full of interesting comments and questions involving a diverse array of people and their favorite drivers. Now it's the same 8 to 10 people whining and bashing Kyle and Dale. You quite often feed the fire with your comments. I wonder if there are  many adults that  even visit this site anymore ( not including you)

  2. I didn't get to my seat until 5pm and the driver introductions were already being held, so I didn't see any of this happen. I have never been to an NHRA event. I would possibly think about going, but I live in Florida and I drove to LMS for the race.

  3. I did not, but I didn't get to my seat until about 3:45/4:00 andprerace festivities had already started.

And, I am not an NHRA fan, so I will not attend.  However, I parked back by the new site for the Nationwide race and the (is it a track?) is coming along quite quickly.  All the supports for the stands are up.
