Did anyone else hear that Pittsburgh wouldn't?

sell tickets to Detroit fans unless they lived outside of Michigan? With the fact that Pitt almost lost there team, I think it is downright wrong. They must not want the real and best, most represented road fans helping them sell tickets.

  2. Randy..In NO WAY am I a Pens fan but now I'm sick of all your negativity on this site. It's a good thing you aren't ripping Flyers or Flyers fans like you do Pens players and fans cause it would get ugly here.

  3. Ok...so is that why the Pens have over 50 consecutive sellouts dating back to last year?

Besides, every team in every sport does it! Whats the point of having "home court" advantage if half of the building is packed with fans of the visiting team!? Detroit has up to four home games in the Finals. Pittsburgh has up to 3. Joe Louis Arena seats more people by about 3,000. So assuming that every game in these Finals are sold out, Detroit would be selling about 29,000 more seats, or about 1.737 games in Pittsburgh. If you're going to bring up this point, look back at the Winter Classic. Out of the 70000+ seats at Ralph Wilson, you'd think that more than 1,000 tickets would be circulated on the Penguins website for use by Pens fans. Like you'd be able to get a seat a Mellon Arena anyways even if they were selling tickets in Detroit. They sold out in less than 11 minutes for the entire series. If you're going to start beef about this, think about not only what our city is doing, but what every sports city is doing, even Buffalo with a Winter Classic game that was more of a publicity stunt.

  4. Post a link, saying what box offices refused to sell tickets to someone in MICHIGAN! Plz Plz~

  5. Per Pittsburgh's website -

Mellon Arena is located in Pittsburgh, PA. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of PA, OH, WV, MD, NY, NJ, DE, VA and the District of Columbia. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside of PA, OH, WV, MD, NY, NJ, DE, VA and the District of Columbia will be canceled without notice and refunds given.

So it seems that they have limitations on who can purchase tickets with a credit card and those limitations exclude Michigan residents.

    * P.S. I am not sure if any other arenas do this. If it turns out that this is not typical then I believe your argument/complaint has merit.

  6. Gonchar was that Gary Roberts taking out Franzen in that vid?

  7. i heard that 2. i told my mom that & she said that didnt sound right.

  8. If it is indeed that cut and dried, I find it classless for any team to do it.

    It's not sporting at all.

  9. No i didnt but thats bull

  10. LOL this isnt true my friend.

My dad and 5 other guys are going to the game tonight...we live in MICHIGAN.

I dont know where you heard that..weird.

  11. It's not illegal for the Penguins to choose not to sell tickets to people who live in Detroit... It's smart if you ask me! Plus, tickets for the final games have been mostly sold out for ages.

& Detroit can refuse tickets to people in Pittsburgh, so they're stupid for not doing that..

  12. this will be the 66th straight game that the Pens have sold out, i don't think they need the Wings fans help

plus, only 2000 tickets were available for this game, so they wanted them to go to the Pens fans, there is nothing wrong with that
