i have a resemblance from the JD drinking. maybe, just maybe, WWE is going to far with this. i saw a resemblance here, and this all has to do with teenagers in school. i saw JBL as a bully trying to have cm punk have alcohal, jack daniels, which they call it peer pressure. and havin CM punk say no, which is what parents want their kids to say

maybe im going to far with this, but did anyone get the resemblance here besides me?

  1. yes

  2. ya i agree with you

  3. Yes, that is why RAW is now PG rated

  4. It could work out that way for WWE, and maybe that's one of the reasons they picked up Punk. But the Straight Edge character has been CM Punk's character since his ROH days. He had a feud with Raven where he used to do these really good promos about how Raven was a drinker and all that stuff just like his father was. Which is why he's straight edge because he doesn't want to be like his father. His character in ROH was to take out all the evil types who do things like drink in bunches and smoke a whole lot and things like that. His promos made you think he wanted to kill Raven.

This was just a tiny taste of what his character was in ROH...and the other thing is he did the Straight Edge character in ROH as a heel. Mainly because most people like to drink, smoke and do all that while partying..and Punk's character was anti that.

We just got a little taste of what his character was back then, hopefully they'll let him do it full blown so that character can be taken serious...

  5. You took the words right out of my mouth

  6. ya, i see where your going

  7. I agree with Yanks'08.

I mean,if it was the attitude era,Punk would've taken some Jack Daniels, taken a drink, and smashed it over JBL's head and said "I accept."

But since this is John Cena buy my c**p including a dress up like me kit and a coffee mug era,not the attitude era,WWE has to set an example for kids (which wwe isn't for, well, now it is) which sucks because the WWE/WWF I know saw Stone Cold barge into someones house, saw Mick Foley risk life and limb in the h**l in a Cell, saw a man flip off his boss and enjoy a good beer, not see a man overcome the odds with 5 moves and sell merchandise for ratings. But Now WWE has to be all goody two shoes about everything.

  8. i agree and they are doing this cause CM Punk is the WHC and little kids look up too the champions and superhero wrestlers so they told him to say no and explain why

  9. There's a resemblance, but while Punk gets the role model feel, I sincerely doubt that they did this only to give kids a message about peer pressure. It was simply a way to show that while Punk values competition, he values his beliefs more. It works as character development for both men as well, making JBL look like a weak bully and Punk as the strong willed warrior. Besides, that type of segment and statement resonates well past childhood.

And Punk would have never taken the shot anyway, PG or not, he's straight edge in real life.

  10. This Is For Yanks08, Just So You Know CM Punks Father Was An Alcoholic Growing Up. Thats The Reason He Is Straight-Edge. Its NOT Any Kind Of Gimmick.

Oh & So What If A Man Doesnt Want To Drink & Be Responsible For Once, Its Nice To See That For A Change.

  11. IF wwe wasnt pg rated for little kids, punk would have taken the shot, and said s***w you guys im gonna live being straight edge sucks, but this isnt the attitude era, this is the John Cena-spinner belt-feed off the little kids rich parents by getting them to buy our merchandise-pg rated era

  12. i get it. i agree with answerer number 1 also

  13. WWE is laughable. CM Punk could possibly be along with Cena one of the crappiest champs to date. BRING BACK THE ATTITUDE ERA. DONT LET KIDS INTO THE FRICKIN ARENA.

  14. That makes sense- WWE is going PG

  15. Yes Noted, but dismissed as the dumb writers trying to work the "Straight-Edge" Angle.

  16. lol i never noticed but yea it makes since
