Question:

Did anyone else think it was tacky for Pittsburgh fans to chant "go Pens go" after Detroit won last night?

I thought it was kind of sad for Detroit to have to listen to "Go Pens Go" after they had just won the cup, and it seemed like it was poor taste on the part of the Pittsburgh fans.

Any thoughts??

  1. I Don't Think Detroit Was Even Listening to The Chants.. They had the Stanley Cup In their Hands... "Go Pens Go" was only a faint Whisper.

I Thought The Booing was Disrespectful but then the Wings fans that were there really helped with the "Lets Go Red Wings" chants.. Ya'll rox!

  2. No i thought it was fine! and for fans to do that they got class! and even if you look closely when the penguin players lifted their sticks all the redwings players clapped!

  3. No. Pittsburgh gave the Wings a great contest after losing the first three games. This year's series appeared over in four games, and the Penguins rallied to take the Wings till six. The fans at Mellon Arena last night showed their pride for the team by the chant.

  4. What else is new? I wouldn't have expected anything less. No class b******s

  5. No, they were just congradualating their team for their hard fought season.  Some people fight think this isnt't classy but I thought they were just helping their team look on to next season.

    Go Wings

  6. Are you serious?  They were showing gratitude to their team by chanting"Let's go pens"  are people that thin-skinned that they'd be offended by an expression of gratitude?  I saw a lot of people clapping as the wings hoisted the cup and as zetterberg was presented the conn-smythe.  The only thing worse than the sore-losers who booed are the sore winners who'd complain about fans applauding their team's efforts despite being bested by the better team.

  7. Hey all you clueless ones out there.

The Penguin fans were booing when Bettman was talking (and touching the Cup)  You all fail to point out that the boos turned to cheers when Lindstom lifted the Cup.

    THEY WERE BOOING GARY BETTMAN

    get it straight.

  8. I thought it was a bit rude chanting "Crosby, Crosby" after they lost... But honestly, its such a big moment for them, the Wings players probably didnt care all too much

  9. dont forget they also booed when wing hoisted the cup. its just pittsburgh have no respect for anyone but themselves. i cant beleive the wings won thet cup in pittsburgh. they atcually had they cup in pittsburgh. the cup i too valuable to be there. hey at least pittsburgh fans got to see  the cup in pittsburgh. too bad pittsburgh will never se the cup with the pens anytime soon.

  10. Tacky no.  They were still showing support for their team.

If the Pens would have won in JLA...would you have chanted Lets go Pens?  I doubt it.  You most likely would still show support for your team.

I'm sure the wings didn't pay any attention to what the Pens fans were cheering...they were happy to win.  Besides...that kind of stuff comes along with winning on the road.

  11. I'm all for them supporting their team but when they booed I thought that was definitely in poor taste.

  12. Even as a Wings fan, I saw nothing wrong with it.  They played a great season, and a decent series.  Gotta take pride in your team.

If the Wings didn't want to hear that they should have one game 5 at home.  Glad they took it in six though, I wouldn't have wanted a game seven in Hockeytown.

  13. It was for the team that was still on the ice. It was to make sure they knew the fans loved them still, how is that tacky or in poor taste. Now if you meant the ones chanting it after the Cup was brought out and the Red Wings had it then I'd agree it was in poor taste. I thought that was just stupid to be honest.

  14. I didn't have a problem w/ the Pens fans appreciating their teams job, the Pens put up a good fight. But I thought the booing was classless.

  15. Gotta agree with Zam, they were supporting their team and thanking them for a great season.  If the wings didn't want to hear it they could have lost the game or won game 5.

  16. The Pen's may not have won the cup, but they will always be number one in Pittsburgh. Sorry that we are better fans than you.

  17. No, not tacky at all. I think it's great for the fans to show their support for the home team. The Pens gave thier fans a great season, and it's only fair that they should get to share a moment with the fans before the off season. I think it's be really sad if they didn't cheer their team on.

I bet there's not a player on the Red Wings who felt it was tacky, they know what it means for the fans and players to be able to connect.

  18. The pens played an awesome series, their fans were still proud and no I do not think it was tacky. And I am A DETRIOT FAN!!!!!

  19. not at all as a flyers fan i thought it was cool cause they showes support for the team and they deserve it. The wings are the wings and they win and they are the best team.

  20. No.  They were proud of their team and their effort in the playoffs and wanted them to know it. I see no problem with it.

  21. No, we our proud of the season our team had.
