  1. My grandmother is so sweet and let me tell you! She wanted EVERTHING to be exactly like my cousin's wedding (which I wasn't able to attend). She has given me the programs they used, their invitations, their thank you cards, pictures of their flowers. Their style is nothing like mine. I just say thank you grandma, but this is what I like. Her face just says that she hates everything, but I'm not going to change it because of her.

  2. Oh yeah! I even caught myself doing it to my friends, after they did it to me! Having a bride around is like having a cool new Barbie to play with, I couldn't help it!

  3. h**l yes!! my mother in law wouldn't keep her noise out of anything... Hun all u need to do is say "yep OK" then turn around and what u want or Ill never be happy don't let any1 do anything for you or you'll regret it...

its Ur wedding you do everything the way you want and how u want it!! don't let ne1 else decide!!!!

i went through h**l with mine me and my mother in law were fighting all the time about thing even my DRESS....

so keep in mind don't get stressed and just learn to say OK and do what u want OK... good luck

  4. NOPE, my husband and I eloped - went to the courthouse with our best friends (2 people only) and have been happy we did ever since!

Both families have strong traditions surrounding weddings and we didn't want to have to compete and make everyone happy, plus we both hate big crowds, so we did what WE wanted to do and we loved it.

We did invite a small group of friends to a little reception afteward - a dinner and drinking time at a nice restaraunt in a private room.

  5. Hunny yes everyone trys to plan your wedding . Its just key to yup them to death and do what you want . If you like the idea use it if you dont say thankyou and move on...

  6. It's going to happen. My mom is trying to plan mine like it was hers which I just tell her I love her, but I don't like her style sometimes. You got to keep it cool in the family. Everyone wants to pitch in. I consider it lucky to have SO many people that care about us. I'm planning it our way (nice & simple)

  7. No.  We let everyone know we were getting married and all that jazz ... then just got married one Friday night after we got off work.  Me, him, our son, 3 other people - one married us.  No stress, no mess, just as married as everyone else, only happier :)

  8. yes tell me about it.. i did not let them.

  9. yep, my stepmom has taken apon herself to invite most of the family to be in the wedding when we had no intentions of inviting them to be in the wedding(but still at it). So we are left with that ackwardness but for the sake of everyones feelings we are letting them be in it.

  10. Nope.  In-laws lived out of town, and I made plans with hubby's input, and with my mom.  We had a tight budget but everything turned out super because I had 10 months to plan for it.  I made a lot of things myself, flowers, favors.  It's your wedding, and you and your fiance talk about what type of wedding you want, then you make the plans, usually with your mom and dad since they pay for it.

  11. Yes and it was hairy for a few.....My mother inlaw decided that since she bought a wine colored dress for our wedding she was going to incorporate that color in our wedding flowers. Then my fiances Aunt and Uncle got us a card box, but gave it to my mother inlaw to give to us and before I ever got to lay eyes on it, she had decorated it!!!  Now she is making car decorations for us out of trash bags and yarn. She drives me crazy.
