I am a Republican who styles my own political beliefs after President Lincoln's.  To compare the two was ridiculous.  Lincoln would shred Obama in a debate on any subject, any time.  Too bad they are 140 years apart.  I would like to invite anyone on Yahoo Answers to debate the similarities.  I bet I'll win.  There is nobody except Bob Barr, perhaps Ron Paul and a tiny bit John McCain that resemble Abe's philosophy at all.

It's the game that the Dems play -- take Black America for granted for decades, and downplay (the media ignores) the FACE OF THE USA has been a BLACK WOMAN for over 5 years -- in the male-dominated parts of the world, especially the MidEast where woman CANNOT EVEN show their faces of walk in public (hello!?).. the USA has a black woman front & center and equal at the table... and the Dems cannot see that?!!? (explain that, away) -- Condi Rice replaced a black man, at that.

So, they needed to put someone/anyone of color up on the stage in 2004 -- and created a MONSTER that consumed their entire Party (to Hillary's anger, but that's what she gets for playing games, and pretending she was going to do A THING for NY State, instead of simply running in 2004).

Obama's trying for that image, since he's in Chicago, etc. this is what Dems do (notice his step-dad & Asian upbringing - that his mom was TEACHING HIM ENGLISH at 4:30am, by the way, simply was omitted/edited OUT of the entire 4 days? you think that's an oversight?!?)... THAT WAS HIS FATHER!!. and that of the "inspiration" of the Kennedy Years (which is a crock, since Dems can't bring themselves STILL in 2008 -- to give 100% of the credit to Lyndon B. Johnson, because the Southern white Dems still HATE LBJ.. for what he did, since they Opposed Civil Rights, the same way that they fought for secession 100 years earlier & resisted the GOP's advancements post-Civil War through to the 1960's!).

Dems are ALL about the style & facade -- just like Hollywood itself -- but they always forget, as with running Gore & his Alpha Male suits.. and JFKerry pretending he's a Kennedy AND Irish for decades (when he's a Hungarian Jew!?), people see through, and know there's nothing behind it.

The similarities relate to their experience prior to seeking the office of the President.  But that's not really what you're asking for.  Curiously you are concerned about my gastric well-being.

Both served in the Illinois State House, both lost a bid for national office (Lincoln the Senate, Obama the House), both served in the US Congress (Lincoln in the House, Obama in the Senate).  Both were lawyers, neither had executive experience.  Both opposed wars being fought under false pretenses.  Both campaigned for the Presidency against a party in turmoil (you'd be hard pressed to believe the current occupant is a Republican considering how seldom he was mentioned at the Republican National Convention)

I hope you ate something colorful.  That makes it more entertaining when you puke.  Wear knee pads, you should be there a while.

Ha ha ha... since theories are starting to come out to say that Lincoln actually emancipated the slaves because they were "property" and he couldn't deport them.... So unless Obama just wants to deport "blacks" back to Africa I don't see how they were the same...

and since when is Al Gore credible... as a Geographer I have heard his "theories" and none of them are consistent to real science...

Yeah I did because Lincoln is not the savior he is made out to be. Lincoln was a racist and although a liberal at the time in a contemporary setting he would be a typical republican.
