  1. Nadal won against Ferrero, 6-4 6-1

  2. I'm not surprised. Ancic isn't the best on clay.  I agree with the dude above. Ferrer will be a tough match.

  3. Ancic isn't doing too well recently and clay doesn;t complement his game as he likes pace.

  4. I think Ferrero's game is better than Ancic and will give Nadal some thinking out there. I'd still go for Nadal, though, 7-5 6-4

  5. I expected a 6-0 6-3 score :) Its Rafa c`mon King Of Clay!!!

  6. i didnt watch it but the scores were indicative of how the match went...from what i read, it took mario eight games before getting into the scoreboard...he was lucky he scored 3 in the second set...this is an indication that Rafa is right on track...Vamos Rafa!!!!

  7. yes! nadal was keen to show the world and the tour who is boss on the clay! Ancic is certainly nearly fully recovered from his illness but may be struggling with past injurys. I think he looked fine, Nadal was just a far better player!

  8. nadal is looking really good.. he also looks stronger more muscular... he is posed to put beatings on many people..... nadal is going to destroy all....

  9. i didnt watch the match  but i am really happy with the result.

as for fererro the match is on and the current scoreline is 5-4 and on serve.

    i think nadal will win.

    go nadal!

  10. I watched the last set of the match between Nadal and Ancic when it aired again earlier in the a.m. (at midnight U.S. Eastern Time) and I was very, very impressed with the way that Nadal played.

The match between Nadal and Ferrero is on now (5:41 a.m. U.S. Eastern Time) and they are starting their warm-ups.

I say it will be Nadal a winner 7-6, 6-4.

  11. Well true.  Ancic's game does not favor the clay....so is Federer and Djokovic.  Like Ancic, they're all big servers with nice forhand and stuff that favors the hard and grass courts.  The clay is Nadal's surface which makes him very dangerous because the dirt slows down any big hit or big serve they throw at him...and since he moves very well too, it's just nothing but trouble for his opponent.  Agains Ferrero, well, he won but Ferrero or Ferrer are clay court specialists too...but they don't have Nadal's speed and consistency...and power.

  12. well, ancic really doesnt have the clay-courter game and has been through some rough times in the last year, so he was playing at about 60% of his best. JCF, is a different story, he is raised on the clay and has won the French open, i say nadal in two tiebreaks.

  13. Ferrero is 1-5 against Nadal. He's only beaten him once on hard courts. Nadal beat him 6-1 6-1 last year at Indian Wells. I'm gonna go with 6-0 6-4 to Nadal.

Update: Well, I was close. Nadal won 6-4 6-1. I should've known he wouldn't bagel his countryman and friend.

  14. Ancic only lost because he had mono.
