  1. She is somewhere under the vast Pacific....which is larger than all the land on earth combined.

  2. as far as i know, no nobody knows. some say she was taken by ufo's, others say that her plane crashed and sunk.

but her body has never been found

  3. There are three theories:

1- Ditched due to fuel and was killed on impact.  There is some verification of this due to research into Coast Guard radio logs of the time, and actual recordings on voice transmissions from Earhart.  (Her mission was replanned in a hurry, resulting in her flying against prevailing winds as opposed to with them; significantly increasing her fuel consumption.  However, there were no additional fueling stops planned for the trip.)

2- Crash landed on an island in the S/Central Pacific.  Survived the crash but eventually died due to dehydration/hunger/disease.

3- Crash landed and was held prisoner by the Japanese, where she died in captivity

Of these the third has the most press; but there is no reliable evidence: no Japanese documents have turned up, no Japanese veteran has mentioned the story (soldiers/sailors who were on the island or in the fleet she supposedly overflew).  Islander accounts have been refuted by forensic research.

FWIW, my background as a USAF Navigator, plus using the logical tool of Occam's Razor leads me to the conclusion that #1 is the most likely.  It also has the significant advantage of being verifiable through surviving documentation.

  4. no one has found the wrekage to this date

  5. Every few years or so someone comes up with a new theory but ,in fact, no one has a clue. We will probably never know for sure.

  6. Over this past summer there was an article online that I had read about researchers believed to have found what could be her remains on an island.  I have not heard anything since, though due to the many years she has been missing, any remains found at all would be impressive.  Due to temperature and location - that will determine the speed of the body decaying.  To top it off, if the remains found are suspected to be hers, they would need some type of DNA sample to be able to compare to deceifer if it is a true identity or not.

  7. They had this whole thing on the news where they thought they found her airplane on a Pacific island beach, but they weren't sure.  Other than that, I don't know.
