  1. Roberts was in the crease but he wasn't touching the goalie.  That would be the difference between the two.  You should be smart enough to know the difference by now.

    GO PENS!!!!!

    3 MORE WINS

  2. besides all of the stupid pitt answers, i didnt see it. but what i did see before the play was someone who shoved lilja from behind when he didnt have the puck ever. then they went onto score on it. that pissed me off when i saw that.

and did you see what they were doing to holmstrom last game!?!?!? it was crazy illegal, and if we did it, the refs would look so quick and call it easily, but then they turn their backs when holmstrom is there. its pathetic. he missed scoring chances because pitt kept being pussys and hitting him because he is too much of a threat. it was practically rape! its all bullshit, and we dont get those calls.

  3. I hope your kidding. It doesn't matter if he's in the crease. That rule was abolished a few years ago. It goes to show how much the Red Wings "fans" know about hockey. The Wings have had the series handed to them by the refs. I mean, every call goes in their favor. The only call that should have been made was a double minor on Staal for high sticking. It's so easy to win when they put someone for the Pens in the box every 2 minutes.

  4. Well I have to admit that it was a good goal last night, I mean i won't argue with Pens fans because like I have said I am a good loser, we lose we lose plan and simple, The only thing I will say is that Sidney Crosby is shoved down our throats and the mojority of Pens fans will agree there is more than just 1 PLAYER on that team that is good, Goncher,Malkin,Hossa, Fleury and Sykora. The Wings didn't play there game last night they need to pick it up Saturday or we are going back to Detrioit 2-2

  5. the refs obviously didn't

  6. Was his stick between Osgoods legs like Holmstroms was on Fleury when his goal was disallowed. I am all for the refs taking goals away when a player is in the crease and impeding with the goalies chance to make a save. Years ago they took a goal away if the toe of someones skate was in the crease and they weren't even near the play. Thank goodness they got rid of that stupid rule. If Roberts prevented Osgood from making the save then yes it should have been disallowed that is unless he was pushed into the crease by one of the Wings

  7. 1 Freakin game and the Red Wing nation is already crying.

    Have more class please.

  8. The fact is Roberts was in the crease but was not interfering.  Last series against Dallas, the Wings had a goal disallowed because Holmstroms but was over the line but not interfering with the goalie.  What the OP is trying to point out is that there is no consistency in reffing in the playoffs at all.

Furthermore, where the frick are all these Pens fans coming from all the sudden?  Congratualtions the Pens won one game, by one goal, at home, where they have won about 20 games in a row, on a night when the Wings played poorly nad MAF played great.  I know you have to get excited when your team wins a game but be realistic here.  The Wings are still outscoring you in the series 9-3.  No one in Detroit is whining because the Wings are now in position to win the cup in Detroit and not in Pittsburgh in game 4.  No one wants this series to be a sweep.

And no the league is not favoring Detroit in the series, that is absolutely ludicrous.  Who is the face of the NHL, the hope of the next generation to bring the sport back into the limelight? SIdeny Crosby.  It sure as h**l isn't the European players on Detroit, Chris Chelios or any of the other players. Penalties have been real darn even except in game 2 where the Pens were clutching, grabbing, and taking cheap shots at Wings players.

  9. Somebody get this kid a tissue.

  10. It was a good goal; if any of the officials had a concern, the war room in Toronto was definitely ready to go.  I thought Detroit had scored a goal with 12 minutes, but it hit the post (had to rewind several times).

Pittsburgh played well and deserved to win.  Detroit needs to play their game and avoid coughing it up in their own zone on Saturday.

  11. you can't be serious.

we lost. period. similar to last year's Ducks series.

shoulda, coulda, woulda's don't win games.

add - agree w/ Beer Slayer ... YET AGAIN. you really muddy the waters of the red wing fan pool.

any wing fan who talks about being screwed because of crease rules is a hypocrite. do you realize how many goals have been scored by wings players w/ a (technically speaking) crease infraction? we're masters at it. but other teams do it well too.

IF you WRITE every OTHER word IN caps IT is DIFFICULT to READ, let ALONE understand WHAT you ARE trying TO emphasize!

  12. Do you need a tissue?

  13. Whether he was there or not the only thing that matters is that the impartial referees didn't happen to see it.

I call them impartial because the same referees were accused of letting Detroit get away with murder in the previous games.

Can't have your donuts and eat them too.

  14. both teams are good yeah i saw it penguins goin all the way though

  15. yes i almost broke my tv that i just got that day that was a bullcrap call they want pittsburgh to win for the NHL because of crosby.

  16. He is just lucky he was gone before the puck was scored.  Or maybe Hall was smart to wait for him to exit.  Don't think it really affected the play though, I do agree with you on the Holmstrom thing though.  Osgood just overcommited.  Osgood also has to face the puck there.  Any NHL hockey player would have done the same thing Hall did.  Just throw it off him.

The way the games are being called, it seems the officials just want the game to be decided five on five.  There were MANY plays for both sides that would have been called if it were regular season.  One play that comes to mind was the hit that Kennedy had on Lebda after an OBVIOUS icing touch up.  Those are the types of plays that need to be looked at, because those are where guys are going to get hurt.  Missing calls like that however, did nothing to affect the result of the game.  I just don't like it because those are plays where injuries happen really easily.  The Wings PP has been ineffective anyway, so it didn't matter.  The Wings will be more relaxed next game, and will win in five games.

Oh to you Pens fans, seriously, enough about the series being handed to the Wings by the refs.  Do you really think the league wants the Wings to win???  The refs have been letting A LOT go uncalled both ways.  It seems the Pens are getting more penalties because they are the ones taking the "stupid" penalties like the obvious roughings.  Take the two dumb cross checking penalties by Gill away and you have an even 3 obstruction type penalties for each team.  The obstruction penalties usually, and have been in this series, are pretty even.  Its the roughing type penalties that won't be even, because the refs are going to call those, especially when they are obvious.
