Did anyone hear about Kyle getting his helmet stolen Friday night?

I was watching This week in NASCAR last night and I only heard a little bit about it but this was the 1st I'd heard about it. He got it back, I guess security found the guy that broke into his trailer and took it but isn't that kind of crazy? supposely they thought this was a lucky helmet so they took it and Kyle said it wasn't lucky they were just using that one cause it had orange on it like his car last weekend.

i found it pretty funny someone would try & steal his helmet just because they think its lucky!

Didn't hear about that.  Kind of amazing with the security around the race track that anyone could just waltz up to the trailer and steal a helmet.  Heck you need passes to get anywhere, pass for pit road, pass for garage, pass for hospitality.  I wonder if they got the guy as well.

That is pretty crazy though someobdy was having fun Friday night with Wild Thing's helmet.  I bet nobody believed it was the real thing till it hit the news.....LOL!

on that same episode of "this week in nascar" the guys were talking about kyle's radio communications and how it always sounds like his car is just terrible.  one of them said that there was one point when kyle said he had no forward bite, no side grip, and something else, yet was still leading the race.  michael waltrip said "yeah, but at least he had his helmet back.  if kyle's really all that loose it'll come in handy in case he crashes."  i was busting up.  mikey might not be fast on the track, but he is wicked fast with the comeback.

and yeah, someone did break into kyle's hauler, poured beer and ice all over a bunch of things, made a big mess, and stole his helmet, thinking it was his "lucky helmet."  someone else in the area alerted security and the guys were caught with the helmet still with them, and they were taken away and the helmet returned. and it turns out, as was said above, it wasn't his "lucky" helmet or special-made for this race or anything - in fact, it was the "snickers" helmet they had used in his win at atlanta.  the only reason they were using it this weekend (which they did) was that it was the closest thing they had to orange in the shop (to match their "combos" paint scheme). then mikey had his comments - it was fularious.

ps. i'll bet it was a scott riggs' crew member...never trusted those guys. ;-)

pps. and i was NO WHERE NEAR dover this past week...so don't look at me...it was riggs' nation - get those guys!!!

Well they didn't hit him in the head with it. I guess you "could" call it a lucky helmet.

Who really cares?

They need to examine that car after the race and figure out how he gets away with cheating week after week.

The story I read about it said it had to be an inside job...the cleanup crew possibly.  That the guy also poured beer and ice all over the inside of the hauler.

Rack...it was meant as a joke..as I'm sure one of the Shurbheads will make the comparison between this and Jr Nation throwing beer cans.  Thought I'd beat 'em to it.
