  1. hi.. when my friend was trying to bring his wife they kept telling him that the case was almost finnished and was under "administrative review", it drove the poor guy insane nearly. But I suggested we contact the Senator and House Representative in his area and they helped by making an "Official Inquiry" and less than a month later his wife was with him. Ask the sponsor to do this for you. Good luck and best wishes....another thing.. be wary of immigration lawyers just out to collect your money. My friends lawyers turned out to be worthless.

There is a law called the "right to life" and its intent is to help married people and families stay together in this proccess.. ask the senator about this.

Keep bothering the contacts you have until they help you

  2. If you know what immigrant visa category, you can look it up for yourself on the Visa Bulletin at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bullet...

If you're not sure, you can look up the various immigrant visa categories for definitions at travel.state.gov or if you can tell us the legal status of who filed for you along with your relationship to that person, your age and marital status and nationality, maybe someone can give you a more definitive answer. But if you look at the Visa Bulletin, the wait on immigrant petitions can vary from immediate to 22 years, all depending on  your category.
