Did anyone learn their times tables as a child only to forget as an adult?

as a child in the 1970's i had to stand on a chair and recite them like 2,4,6,8 not 2x2=4 now im scared silly of them.ive taught my children them but cant get them in my own head!im practicing but soon as i get asked i clam up and forget.thing is i work in a school!so i have to keep checking my little book.how stupid i feel!

  1. I learned them by rote as a child.  But I never can remember the 7's, 8's and 9's.  The bigger ones trip me up.  I guess that's what calculators are for, huh?

  3. It's OK! Everyone is not forced to remember their times tables, or anything. They r just supposed to have a good Education. If u want to remember those times tables, do some math facts on the computer. Or buy, Math Cards at u're local store. It's normal, I don't think u are stupid. U just forget! And that is really normal!

  5. I was good at school but became useless  with age UNTIL I began using the Nintendo ds brain training.  It really speeds your brain up.

    My favourite times table has always been 7x8=56.

  8. I never forgot mine, but I'm only 20 and in college.  Once I get a little older though, I'll probably forget everything.
