Did anyone meet their spouse in high school?

as a freshman?

i'm curious on how often this happens.

and if it did happen.. then did it last?

i've found myseld looking at guys in my classes.. thinking, whoa.. i could marry him someday, and i not even know it.

it's really pretty crazy.

my mom and dad met when they were both 15 in high school. they are still married 30 years later.

Yes, he was in high school and I was a freshman.  He lived on my street and delivered the paper to our house.  He started writing me notes and hiding it in the paper he would deliver.  We started going out when I was like 15 or 16, really young.  We have 3 kids and have been married for 38 years.

My parents met when they were in 8th grade, they've been married about 50 years... unhappily, but still married.

I was a senior in high school and my husband worked @ the Jack-in-the-box across from there.I was 17 and he was 19.. we have been together for 5 1 /2 years w/ 2 boys...does that count??

My inlaws have been together since high school. They're still together, I think it's been 32 years....

I met my husband in 7th grade...but did not date until MANY MANY MANY years later. Instead, we were best friends (no, not 'with benefits') during those years. Generally those youthful romances (under age 20) do not last long term. You need to try many different ice cream flavors before you determine your favorite, otherwise you are stuck with vanilla your entire life.

Well I am one of the statistics...My husband and I met back in the days of high school.  We have been together for 14 years and married for 2 yrs.  It is definitely possible to find your true love at a young age, but trust me keeping a relationship from that young of age is not easy.   I am not saying I regret meeting my husband, but I would have wished to have met him after high school.  There is so many things to look forward to besides settling down at this age.  Your young and need to find yourself before falling in love.  Date and get to know everyone and anyone, but in a few years you will probably go to college, so try not to get attached to one person.  But to answer your question, yes it is possible to meet your spouse in high school.  Just make sure your relationship is more than just attraction, cuz once lust is gone you better have more in common than looks.

My sister and brother-in-law met in Year 11 (Junior year for US folks) and have been together ever since.  So that would be about 20 years now.

They have been happily married for about 15 years now and have 3 wonderful children.

I met my husband when I was 16 1/2 yrs old.  He was a football captain at an all boys catholic HS and I was a cheerleader from an all girls catholic HS.  I cheered at his school and we met at a "meet n greet" picnic for the players and cheerleaders.  For me it was love at 1st sight.  It took me a week to get his number.  Four days later, we were dating.  We've been together for 13yrs all together as of next month.  We've been married for 6.5yrs and we have a son.  So... it could happen!
