I'm in my last year of high school and I haven't dated yet and don't plan on it. The reason is because I'm shy, and I also don't want to put up with all the stupid drama in having a girlfriend.

yeah. its a waste of money. high school relationships come and go. it's not economical at all. college is where the action is

I have not dated at all in high school (I'm a senior) and I plan to keep it that way. I know that I still have a lot more growing up yet to do before I start dating anyone.

I've had many other friends who have gone from guy to guy or from girl to girl and have watched them have a horrible time in high school because of confusion in emotions, heart breaks, and then having to avoid all their "ex's".

Right now I'm enjoying making life-long friendships and I can say my high school experience has absolutly amazing!

I didn't date in high school.  I had a pretty tight group of about ten friends, even mix of guys and girls.  We all paired up for school dances and things (at three different high schools), but in a different arrangement every time, and other than that, none of us dated much.  I honestly think it was best for me and for my friends.  Teenagers spend so much time, energy, and worry on their relationships (as you can tell from Y!A), and nearly all of those relationships will come to a heart-wrenching end before they've gotten to college.  Wait until you're older and a little wiser (about the world and yourself) before you invest your energy in dating.  It'll make high school a lot easier and dating a lot more fun.

I dated a lot in high school, but I know a couple of people who didn't. As I'm not them, I can't tell you if it was a big deal for them or not, but I can tell you something else. My best friend felt like she always needed to look "cool," and she didn't date until her senior year. The guy she dated happened to be my ex, and he was just not right for her at all. He drove her crazy, in fact, most days she could barely stand him - she just wanted a boyfriend. She went out with him for six months. She will never get that time back, and now, two years later, she still talks about that wasted time and effort that went into a pointless relationship doomed to failure.

So I guess what I'm saying is, if you haven't dated in high school, it's not necessarily a bad thing. If no one catches your eye, not dating anyone would be wise. ;]

I dated for 8 months... unfortunately for me as the guy was a weirdo.
