I just got my results and wondered if becoming a Level 3 candidate opened any new doors or gave anyone better compensation at their current job? I've been working in finance for over 5 years.

Obviously biggest jump would be going from Level 3 Candidate to Level 3 passed to Charterholder, but I'm not there yet.

Please only answer if you have passed CFA level 2 exam or if you've hired someone who has.

  1. If you are in the investment banking world, it would depend upon whether you have an MBA or not. Upper level positions (Associate, VP, Managing Director) require advanced credentials. If you have put in the requisite time, maybe this will allow you to advance your career.
