Especially in the wake of the controversy concerning the chinese girls not being of age (16). I found this really strange and just wondered if anyone else noticed. This is regarding the Olympic Women's Gymnastics competition. As a side note: Nastia Liuken totally got screwed.

  1. as long as they turn 16 this year then there ok. as for nastia gettin screwed, she got screwed bad.

  2. Well, the rules say you only have to turn 16 in the year the olympics are held.

So while some competitors may be 15 now, they may turn 16 in the next, what, 4 months.

Not quite sure as I didn't watch it and don't know the specific athletes.

Yeah.  In cases such as hers where they are SO close (identical difficulties, expecutions, initial deductions) they should just split it.  Getting rid of shared medals was a really stupid move, I think.

  3. America got shafted.

  4. Yeah I noticed that a couple of times, but I'm not sure whats going on with that. I do think that the winner of the uneven bars is underage and I'd guess that she's probably 13 or 14. It'll probably come out after the olympics are over that many of the Chinese girls were underage, but at that time no one will do anything about it.

  5. acting like a bunch of paranoid losers. "shes not old enough" " the chinese are cheating" "the judges are bad" "the tie breaks are dumb" and many many more.

    accept and move on

  6. Nope didnt notice... and Ya Nastia Liuken got screwed! Im so upset about it.. I think its just messed up!

  7. Need to turn 16 the year of the Olympics.

Chinese have cheated before.  Yang Yun, a double bronze medalist at Sydney, has admitted that she was 14 that year.  But I guess a confession from the actual individual still won't persuade all the paid Chinese on these forums (you see them at the Washington Post, USA Today and here).

Anyway, the NY Times article on the disputed age back on July 27, 2008 was pretty compelling.

At least I can criticize the US and not be jailed......

  8. do you think they are too young? A Chinese female athlete got gold medal  on a age of 14 in Barcelona Olympic Games, her name is Fu Mingxia

  9. yersh i did notice this as well!!

yer cant believe that they are allowing lil kids participate...imagine the strees and pressure!!???

hahaha totally Nastia Liuken did get screwed!

    baahaha
