  1. i sure did.. well for most of it anyway

  2. I have my doubts about that. I certainly didn't.

  3. Pure and simply Kookee-No i could'nt give a d**n about it,and i am so glad there is now 'real' cricket matches to watch..Eng and Nz last week were on foxtel before Windies and us Aussies started,i watched a little of both, exciting matches too..

Great to see,and even better IPL has finished because there wont be 50 IPL questions every day....

Careful you dont blow a gasket there buddy!!...pmsl

  4. Every type of cricket is better.Thousands of people has shown interest in IPL.

  5. May be it is not as famous as cricket world cup, but it has attracted way more interest than any other form of domestic cricket.

Probably 1000 times more than county cricket. Probably that is the reason ECB does not liked IPL.

  6. Saw a couple of games and wasn't all that impressed with what I saw other than B. B. McCullum's knock in the opening match.

I echo your sentiments - thank god its over.

  7. I'm not sure everyone would be as shortsighted. Atleast the Australian selectors weren't, and probably which is why Shaun Marsh has been selected in their one-day squad. Look out for him. But if the selectors too had adopted the 'head in the sand' approach, the world, and Australia might have missed out on a class player. The same applies to every country, whose players participated. You knew which were the players who could adapt to different situations and could use them better. Some of the Pakistani players were revelations to all of us.

Overall, the tournament was more than a money spinner. It was a kind of looking glass into the future and those who missed out, well, missed out. India had a fantastic tournament with a large bunch of their under 19s getting great exposure against people like Steyn, Nel, Warne and a host of other world beaters. And these kids came out with flying colours.

So even if the world did not watch it, the purpose was served. Forget the media hype, I know every tour to Australia is always hyped up by the media for their own benefits but when the Aussies win quite easily, nobody complains, or goes back to the media or the team members who made flattering comments about the opposition.

  8. Good to see my favourite Aussie players in the their whites again & looking forward to seeing them in the green & gold again. Go the Aussies in the carribean

    Good ridence to boring IPL

  9. ohh u guys surely love it dnt u ...throwin up in each others face...tats all u do ..good...i dnt understnd..why do ppl keep tiz thing goin on and on ...nyways everyones has his way of entertainment...lolzz...keep it up...lets hear u guys givin really good innovative compliments to each other

  10. im with you on that bring on the real cricket and get some of the old users back

  11. i only liked watching the greats like dravid, jayasuria, sachin, gilly and i also liked watching sehwag, marsh and yuvraj. and rohit sharma was a massive surprise, Brilliant talent. However the competetion overall was too long and was quite a snooze. Theres only so many dhoni, or symond type slogs you can take, before you die of boredom, i really missed test and one dayers.

  12. Steady on there man! You get over excited & blow a fuse.lol. I am glad it's over.YEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

  13. IPL was unfortunately only popular in the subcontinent - but even then it turned out to be quite profitable.

  14. I don't think IPL cares about you either coz millions of people from around the world watched IPL. :P

  15. i did not watch it

and i couldnt give a nats a$$ about it.

thank god its over so i dont have to read any more stupid questions about this pi$$ poor excuse for a cricket contest

    bite me ipl

  16. I enjoyed every minute of it, here in sunny South Africa.

  17. having seen the opinions of some of the more reliable Aussie users and including myself, it appears no one here gave a rats, or even watched it! thank god test cricket is on again!

  18. IPL is the most successful Cricketing event in this decade. Make it a point to see it next time.

  19. I watched it cause I love watching any form of cricket and since I dont have pay TV thats all that was availble to me, but if I had pay TV would have much rathed test/ODIs

  20. Thank God its all over! As you said - get back to the proper cricket. Didn't all the big names leave halfway through anyway?

Roll on Thursday and the third test!

  21. Kookee, you have to agree that IPL has been a tremendous success, whether you like it or not.

The link that you have given has some validity because of the following reasons:

    1) Australia, England, New Zealand and West Indies will be least interested in the IPL because the test matches are going on and definitely one will watch the matches in which their countrymen are playing.

    2) If the Aussies, English and others too would have been a part of the IPL, the interest of the locals would also have increased.

3)It would be better if we don't consider the stats of countries  like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, neither they will be interested in watching their players nor will us.

4)Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa have been the countries with good viewer ship because their stars are part of the IPL.

So, basically, the IPL has been a super HIT with the people all over the world. If IPL gets a permanent slot from the ICC, then lets see the viewer ship status of each country again.

Btw the English cricketers are very much eager to be a part of the IPL.

Ur nation introduced this concept of T20, we have accepted it with open arms.

We had the hesitation of playing this format (we were the last country to play a T20), but we had to give in and now you are saying lets switch back to real cricket!!!

Let's not discuss more of this, coz everyone has made money in this and its over now.
