I was woundering if any parents potty trained their child as little as 14 months old. I would like to start training my twins or at least one of them to potty. Their both 14 months old. The reason is because i'll save alot of money, less diaper rash, and little easier. I would like to know your sucess story with your child and what you did? thank you

  1. I was fully potty trained at 18 months. My mom said the main reason being that I couldn't stand the feeling of a wet/dirty diaper.

  2. Well I've heard of one village that potty trains all the children together at 9 months but science has shown that at that age they don't have full control over all the muscles that control bowel movements. So you wouldn't be able to fully train them yet, I think it's 18 months that they get full control, but there's no harm in trying if they are ready. I think you could teach them to pee in the potty at least.

(No I don't believe the 18 months thing is correct, it's just what I've heard.)

  3. i didn't start yet...my son is 16 months and i don't think he is ready...

however, my neice was fully potty trained early.  i think she started at 15 months.  she was fully trained before her 2nd birthday.

my FIL says he trained his kids fully by 18 months. he couldn't wait to get them out of diapers.  i wish he could train my son for me lol.

  4. I started right at one year. My son was easy because it was summer and i let him learn outside which was so simple because he thought it was so fun. My daughter was a bit more difficult but bother were trained entirely by 14 months.

  5. well im not a parent, but my mom potty trained me and my sis(were twins) seperatly. lauren was first because she had shown interest first.(around 16 months) it took her a while...she didnt start going by her self regularly(for the most part) until she was about 2 years old. but with me it wasa easier because she was so proud of herself she just HAD to show me and tell me what to do.

i would suggest buying a little potty(let them pick it out. and if you want, you could buy oe for each of them, and let them each pick it out) and then tell them what its for, and if they show some interest then go for it. they prolly wont grasp the concept at first condidering their so young, but if you start early then they will prolly learn early(er).

i think its a good idea to start early, so theyll at least know what to do when they do show interest(if they dotn already). so yes i say GO FOR IT.

    good luck!!
