Did anyone read the article about a Mennonite who invented a heater that uses no fuel ?

  1. The fuel less heater was invented centuries ago, it's called a jacket!!!

    It seems to me that this electric heater would just drive your electric bill through the roof.


  2. Yes, I did see that.  I also saw where they had a certain number they were giving away for free.  I so wish I had gotten one.  They were heaters that looked like fireplaces.

    Thought it was Amish tho.

By definition, a heater that uses no fuel would violate the laws of thermodynamics so I took a look for this "fuel-less" heater; I found quite a few links (see below) for both Amish and Mennonite heaters that don't burn things, but they are all electric heaters (so the burning takes place in a power station instead).

    Now heaters that use radioactive 'burning' (e.g. tapping into the heat already produced in the centre of the Earth) - geothermal power as used extensively in Iceland, is the best example of a 'fuel less' heater...

    And most reviewers say they're cr*p anyway...

    Unless you have a link, I'm going to remain skeptical indeed.
