Question:

Did anyone read the story in the newspaper about the council that paid out £58,000 on a royal visit?

They now say they will have to put up council tax bills to pay for it. Is it about time that councils stopped wasting loads of money on such events? should our head of state be able to stand the sight of her subjects in their natural environment?

  1. This behaviour is typical of councils. They do not have to compete nor earn their money, they simply demand and you have to pay up under threat of court action. Just like other governmental bodies they award themselves increases without any justification or come back.

It is about time that these people were reminded who they work for and who pays them.

I have seen my own council tax rise 10% year upon year, unlike my income which has remained static for over 5 years now.

  2. It's true!

The Queen and Prince Philip are absolutely furious. They feel insulted that any local authority, company etc would spend so little money on them and that such miserliness denies the poor little people the opportunity of contributing to their lavish lifestyle.

  3. The monarchy is like a t**d that wont flush, bring on the Republic.

  4. Why can't the queen see us as we really live?   would it really be such a shock to her delicate mind?  If she can't handle reality get rid of her.  I know an old peoples home with a spare bed.   They ain't fussy. they'll take her in.   Then maybe we could be a bit more sensible about wasting loads of money on pointless visits

  5. This was Romsey in Hampshire. It sounds as though they didn't do their homework, having been bedazzled by the prospect of the queen visiting. At the next local elections the voters should oust them as incompetent.

  6. yes the council should pay for out of there own pocket
