Did anyone see john duddy fight on saturday?

how could he pssibly be ready to fight pavlik,he was just getting hit at will. ok he took it well but if that was a big puncher like pavlik he would have finished it in the first round. duddy needs to fight with his head not his heart. saying this though he is really entertaining.

I didn't get to see it because it wasn't televised on HBO they showed the rematch of Pavlik/Taylor 2. Duddy had gotten a big cut on his eye and it looked bad the boxing experts say he got a gift decision and he is not ready to fight Kelly Pavlik and Bob Arum has said it is unlikely that Duddy will fight Pavlik in June because of the cut but in reality its because he isn't on the same skill level as Pavlik.

No, it wasn't televised by HBO. Duddy took a beating from an unkown fighter, Pavlik is going to kill him.

You're absolutely right, he isn't ready for Pavlik and thats one of the reasons why he won't be fighting him.  Bob Arum recently announced that Duddy will not be ready by June because of his cuts that he sustained in the fight (I think the beating he took has something to do with it as well).  I did not see it but I heard that most people at ringside thought he lost and looking at Duddy's face, its hard to disagree with them.  Arum said the fight with Duddy may come later this year and I think if Duddy improves his defense he may be able to at least last to the late rounds with Pavlik, but no matter what, I still see a Pavlik knockout if they ever fight each other.

I answered a question a few days before the fight on Saturday saying that Duddy just isnt in the same league as Pavlik yet, i would say that Saturday definitely proved that. He needs to have at least another 8-10 fights before he steps in with the likes of Pavlik, if he took a fight with Pavlik right now and he left his chin on offer as much as he did the other night then Pavlik would knock him out within two rounds.
