I used to go when I was a young lad, 22 years ago last time I went now and always remember the Lifts down to Oddicombe beach and the Model Village, are they still there ?

Also remember a little village we used to visit called Cocklington (or something like that), a path which I think was in Torbay along the harbour in the trees that was always lit up in different colours at night (I used to pretend I was the hulk).

Remember the kids rollercoaster at Goodrington sands ?

  1. i went on holiday a few times when i was younger. I remember a walk on the seafront that went up a hill opposite the beach and it had all coloured lights as you walked up. I remember seeing cilla black and jimmy cricket in the princess theatre.the beautiful marina.I remember also going on a horse & carriage to cockington where larry grayson opened a fete.happy days!!!!

  2. The Model Village is still at Babbacombe. Of course in a tourist district like this, things come and go. South Devon is still the best part of the country in my opinion. Go and check it out now.

  3. I still go to Torquay regularly and stay at he Palace Hotel. The model village is still there at Babbacombe as is the quaint little village of Cockington which is off the coast road between Torquay and Paignton.  If you really haven't been for 22 years I don't think you would be disappointed if you oaid it another visit.

  4. Mum & Dad went every year from Glasgow and loved it, I spent 1 day there on the way to Newquay and I didnt like it, it was full of old people.

  5. Yeah dude , i used to love holidaying in torquay as a kid , yeah i remember the model village and those lifts, i think the stretch of road your talking about with the lights is the riveara (scuse the spelling)
