  1. I don't think so, they have stayed in the main division more time than all the other clubs with the exception of Everton. However they have been in the third division once in 1970.

  3. NO

  4. No, but if they bring it back give them a few seasons and they should be down there where they belong

  5. The old third division is the lowest I can remember them in.

  6. yes in a no way

  7. Ourselves and Arsenal have never played outside the top flight.

  8. no......

  9. No.

The lowest they ever went was the old Third Division after being relegated from the Second Division at the end of the 1969–70 campaign.

They played only two seasons in the 3rd Division (70/71 and 71/72) before winning promotion to the 2nd Division in 1972.

From there they spent three seasons in the 2nd Division before winning promotion after finishing second behind Manchester United in the 74/75 season.

Since 1975 Villa have remained in the top flight barring a one-season stint in the Second Division in 1987/88. Along the way they claimed their only League title in 1981 and followed that up a season later with European glory in the Champions' Cup.
