Did boats really have windows like this way back then, or is this a parody of a cabin cruiser?

  1. It looks a little like a Bates Star Craft a 33 footer. Wow what an education, boats don't look anything like that at all anymore do they. I remember when all of them looked like that. What changed? The advent of Fiberglass. Production costs and time went way down, maintenance and repairs were equally reduced. Quality woodwork and woodworkers were then as now at a premium.  When? The fabulous 60's and 70's saw an explosion of modern style boats.

ChrisCraft made a similar looking boat in the 40s-50s called a sedan cruiser,  Also Century made a hard top boat up to the 60s called the Coronado.  Riva, an Italian manufacturer, Made a model with roll up windows like a car, but damned if i can remember the model, might have been the aquarama.

  4. yes, the boat is based on a real boat, i live next to a marina that has similar boats, I think the boats date back to 1950s 60s, not sure what they are called though
