  1. he made lots of fighting movies.

  2. ignorance is alive and well i see. he did, so therefore research the matter.

  3. Street punks in Hong Kong when he was a teenager.  The whole reason he took up Kung Fu in the first place, is because he ran his mouth, the guy didn't like it, and beat him up.  As a teenager, actually, Bruce Lee was an a*****e, and his father eventually got so pissed at him he sent him to the U.S. to work as a waiter.  Also, contrary to the movie "Dragon; The Bruce Lee Story," Lee did not live in a poor Hong Kong Tenement.  He actually grew up in one of the nicer, wealthier sections, where most of his family is located to this day.  Being a typical priveleged youth, he got into fights just because.

When the street punks he beat up got wind that he knew Kung Fu, it led to an escalation, and they started getting guys who knew Kung Fu, and it got so out of control, partly aside from being an a*****e, his dad sent him here to the U.S.  Working as a waiter eventually got the assholeness out of him, and meeting his future wife Linda changed him, because she was a calming influence on him.  As far as fighting in tournaments, no, he never fought anyone.

The Wing Chun Kung Fu curriculum takes roughly 1 year to complete.  Lee however, completed it in 2 months.  The reason he completed it so quickly, is because prior to learning Kung Fu, he was trained in the family business of Chinese opera, which involves a lot of acrobatics training.  That is how his father made his wealth.  The coordination, balance, and speed, that he acquired as a child, helped him pick up Wing Chun, among other martial arts style's techniques, very quickly, in addition to the fact that he was a fanatical perfectionist.

    peace out.

  4. People that knew him well said he did fight a lot,  especially when he was younger.  If you asked me if I ever got into a real  fight I could not provide actual visual proof that I ever did, but I assure you  I have.  So you have to decide what you think for yourself.

  5. Yes he did fight people.  One of his most important fights was to keep his school open in Seattle.  Chinese Masters hear of him teaching peolpe from different ethnic backgrounds and they didn't agree with it.  They told him that he had to fight a fighter of their choosing and If he won he could keep his school open and if he lost than he would have to close down his school.  He won and kept his school open but he was so winded afterwards that led him to creating the style of Jeet Kune Do
