  1. if you asked him what he used to develop speed and power he might not say a punching bag.

but if you ask if he used a punching bag then absolutely yes.

now if you him what he used the heavy bag for he'd probably say drilling combination because you can't snap your punches fast without having something to hit (cause you'll hurt your joints shadow boxing like that)

speed and power come from many repetitions with proper technique with a well tuned body that throw each attack from a balanced position.

not sure what aspect of the question you wanted answered

  2. The late Mr. Lee used a heavy bag to develop power in both punches and kicks.

He employed a speed bag to develop speed and accuracy.

His training methods are well documented.

    Be well, train wisely.

  3. According to Wikipedia he used a heavy bag (150 pounds, which is still alot for a man who weighed 135 pounds.)

"Lee performed a side kick while training with James Coburn and broke a 150-lb (68 kg) punching bag[48][58]"

he worked his forearms biceps tris and upper body using weights. He beefed up to 165. His theory is "bigger muscle is better muscle" which makes sense because he'd have more power behind his punch which supplements his heavy bag training

For speed he sparred often trying out new moves and saw what worked and what didn't.

Oh and just a fun fact. Bruce Lee was so fast that they had to SLOW down his movements in his movies because it couldn't be caught. Martial arts movies are always sped up.
