  1. Canada has a tiny population of less than 50 Million people, China has 1.3Billion people.  We should not even try to compare to those numbers.

I am proud of the athletes and their accomplishments.

  2. Canada won 18 medals the amount was....

    Gold:3

    Silver: 9

    Bronze: 6

They also won more medals in men's categories than in women's sections.

  3. Yup, they took gold in moose wrestling, bottle throw and back bacon tossing.   Nah....Just kidding.  They did well.  I think they took home something like 18 medals.  nice goin,eh?

Edit 1) BooBoo81 points out something I didn't get across in my attempts a levity.  Proportionately, 18 medals is excellent performance given the population.

  4. Yes

    total 18

    3 gold

    9 silver

    6 bronze

  5. no

  6. Canada won 18 medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

  7. And even if we had not won a single one, we would still be as proud as hades of our athletes and their efforts.  Hey get it straight that's beer-bottle throwing! lol!

Yes the first week is always slow for us because of the order of the events that take place in that week-mainly swimming. And as we all know, our swim team is in a re-building phase. But we will be back!
