  1. Since many contemporary men look like primates, it is reasonable to state that the opposite can also be true, that is, our ancestors could indeed go bald.

  2. yes they would of done. The cell reproduction would of eventually died down like everything else (sagging skin, wrinkles, hair colour loss) so they would of gone bald.(not everyone goes bald but hair will thin in everyone and the same for cavemen ))

  3. I doubt many did as their life expectancy was so short..

  4. As long as there is testosterone, and the head of the bed is against a wall, men will always go bald....

  5. No I think natural selection would have weeded out the bald ones early - just imagine banging your bald head against the ceiling in a cave.

  6. to answer this, you'd have to find a balding cave man.  they existed in excess of 10,000 yrs ago, and while there is skeletal evidence there won't be any hair evidence remaining

  7. A caveman only lived to about 35,so i guess he never had time to worry about it.I think he worried more about when the next woolly mammoth  would come along.

  8. Cavemen died so early,(under40) they usually didn't have the chance to go bald. Going bald is genetic and I'm sure occurred through out human history.

  9. i dont think they lived to a old enough age to go bald.

  10. Nope, cave men were hairy buggers.

I used to share a flat with one!

  11. I guess so. Do bald men go caving?

  12. First of all the use of the title "cavemen" is misleading. Most archaeological evidence points to caves being either sites of religious rituals or places where the unfit went to die (All the Neanderthal fossils found in caves had either rickets or arthritis). It is believed that our ancestors would have used primitive houses which would have increased their lifespan as would the presence of fish in their diet. Even today in South America there are "primitive tribes" where individuals can live up to 70 years old. Also, the presence in their diet of edible mushrooms as well as pistachios would have contributed to better health and a longer lifespan. As for whether they went bald, I would say it is possible. Life for primitive man would have been stressful and they obviously didn't have Yoga. Large amounts of daily stress has been shown to contribute to hair loss.
