  1. of course not why are they blaming the score keeper?

  2. It was ruled a hit but I believe along with almost everyone else that it was an error. C.C. is an great athlete and if he would have fielded the ball cleanly LaRoche(i think that is who was running) would have been out.

C.C. should get credited for a no hitter.

  3. no it was a error

  4. Was at the game. was obviously an error, should have been on CC which would have given him a no no...hopefully they change it!

  5. Well, the way I saw it on Sportscenter, it was an error all the way...

But then again I'm not the official scorekeeper.

But isn't the important thing that the Brewers won?

  6. No. I looked over the video About 50 times and I noticed It missed his hand. and didn't touch him so in my opinion he did not throw a no hitter. Plus the Brewers want C.C. Sabathia to win the Cy Young award of course, and they also need the publicity. They would like a no hitter so they would fill the stands way more the next time Sabathia starts, and would probably fill the place. Plus if Sabathia won the Cy young award they would get way more fans to come to the the brewers game, especially when Sabathia was pitching. Smart on the Brewers part to say that it was a error, so they could have more people come to the game,  but if they wanted to be truthful they would know that it was a hit. Sabathia knows that it was a hit but he wouldn't admit it because if he pitches a no hitter he'll have a better chance of the brewers paying him more, or if he becomes a free agent more people would want him therefore he would make more money. Plus if he he has a better chance of winning the Cy Young Award with a no Hitter. Plus with the Cy Young The Brewers would pay him more, or if he goes to the free agent market people would pay him more money.

  7. Officially at this time no.  IMO that was an error and he should have been credited with the no-hitter.

  8. It was an obvious error.

  9. CC Sabathia currently as of September 1, 2008 has thrown a 1 hitter against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He had 3 walks and 11 strikeouts in the game. The play that was ruled a hit was when Sabathia misplayed a grounder hit by Andy LaRoche. It was scored as an infield hit, the Brewers thought it was an error. Doug Melvin of the Brewers has appealed the descion. However u cant appeal a official scoring by the scorer, it wasnt the umpires. If it is reversed it would be the first time.

One hitters are huge, don't get me wrong but then again Whitey Ford had 15, Nolan Ryan had 7 and this season alone Dustin MgGowan and Matt Garza have pitched them. They are not an official stat. So yeah this goes in the books no matter what. Either the first 1 hitter changed to a no hitter or the first 1 hitter that should have been a no hitter.

  10. It was called a hit but the Brewers have appealed the decision and are trying to get it called an error so Sabathia can get a no-hitter.

  11. You can't give him a no-hitter. If MLB wanted to change the ruling to an error, that'd be ridiculous. The play in question occurred in the fifth inning. He had no pressure on him the rest of the way because the no-hitter was gone. If it was ruled an error, he would have all the pressure that comes with taking a no-hitter into the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth innings. It makes no sense to change the call because there's no telling he'll get the no-hitter anyway if he's got pressure. It wouldn't be fair to change the call.

  12. it was an error--- had he thrown to first and the guy beat it out, it would be a hit

  13. the guy up in the booth , with his hands scuffling papers and his eyes not on the play ruled it a hit, so i guess it was a hit, well they say he has 20 years of experience so he has to right, RIGHT ??
