  1. I strongly suspect that their corrupt govt bribed judges to

give their clumsy tots higher scores than they deserved.

A couple nights ago it was sickening to see one of their

gymnasts who fell off the beam end up getting a bronze,

while another country's gymnast who did better achieved

    no medal at all.

But at least they can't cheat in the racing events.

Go figure -- those types of events are their weakest!

  2. Well, come on, it has already been revealed that what we all saw at the opening ceremonies was doctored by computer enhancements.

Of course China has cheated.  That government is evil and crooked.

  3. Who? The hacker?

    To the ignorant below:

Let's take a look at the scores:

    Sacramone:

    Vault 1: A: 6.30 B: 9.450 - Total: 15.750

    Vault 2: A: 5.80 B: 9.525 - Total: 15.325

    Final score : 15.537

    Cheng Fei:

    Vault 1: A: 6.50 B: 9.575 - Total: 16.075

    Vault 2: A: 6.50 B: 8.550 - Total: 15.050

    Final Score: 15.567

A is for the difficulty, B is for the execution.

Chung Fei DID get deducted because of her landing, as you can see.

Cheng Fei's routine was much more difficult than Alicia's(She had a .9 higher value I believe?) , so she had much more starting points to begin with. Plus, Sacramone didn't do a great routine ethier, she didn't fall but she didn't stick the landing properly. Chung Fei's first vault alo earned the highest score of all the women with a 16.075.With such low difficulty ratings for Alicia Sacramone( 6.3 and 5.8) she would of had to make vaults, which were not particularly difficult, perfect(which she wasn't) in order to earn her the Bronze Medal.

  4. i dont see how being underage is an advantage if anything it should be a disadvantage because they have less experience so i dont think "cheating" is the right word because they didnt gain advantage..but rules are rules and you have to abide by them..but dont think they "cheated"

  5. To anyone who says, "Younger gymnasts beating older girls? More power to them!" You need to learn something. Rules and guidlines are put in place for a reason. If their is an age restriction, you need to obey them. China probably did cheat with at least half of their gymnasts, but nobody can blame the judging. Judges for gymnastics can only come from countries that don't have a gymnast in the finals. So their was no 'Chinese Judge'. If anything it was a lack of experience on the judges. But like I said the rules are the rules, so you can't complain about judging or say what the Chinese did was right.

  6. duh. There gymnast girls were not 16.They are goood but they should be diqualified because they broke the biggest rule!

  7. No they didnt cheat. Just because some chinese gymnasts were underage age doesnt mean they cheated. Who cares if they are 14, if they are competing in the Olympic games it means that they are good enough in their sport, that they are professionals in an olympic level... Even if they were 9 yrs old, it doesnt matter the age, what matters is that they are good enough to compete and if they are competing is cause they are really good gymnasts...It be very different if a mediocre gymnasts was in the Olympics and was awarded a gold medal without having any experince and doing a mediocre job but the chinese are really good in their field and deserve all the medals that they get.

  8. The IOC should strip the girls and check if they are physically mature like a 16 year old, if you know what i mean.

  9. yeah, at one thing or another. who knows about the gymnast issues. because the gyms website said they were 13 and 14, but when the officials or whoever went on it later that day all the dates were changed to like 1992 rather than 94 like earlier that day, and it said they were a typo but not sure. and theyre physical features (face structure, body-no curves yet and eyes) were provent o be the same as a childs rather than one that has gone through puberty at 12 or 13 of age

but yeah, since the opening ceremony wasnt all real, it was computerized some of it. like the fireworks we saw were really a computer, they were "afraid they couldnt get it all on film so they remade it" with computers. and the singer at the opening was really a little girl behind the scenes singing cuz they told ehr she was too ugly

  10. Well they didn't "cheat" in my opinion. Because if the other people actually had talent they wouldn't be afraid of a 14 year old!

  11. I think the integrity of the whole Chinese Olympic set up has to be in question. The fake fireworks for the opening ceremony, and that horrible stunt they pulled where a little girl singer was deemed 'too ugly', so they used her voice and had a 'pretty' girl mime instead, serve as examples as to the lengths they will go to make themselves look good. Not in the spirit of the Olympics if you ask me.

Another incident today occurred in the Taekwondo when a British girl kicked the Chinese favourite in the face but wasn't awarded the points and went out. After an appeal from the British team, the result was eventually and rightfully changed and the British woman was awarded the win.

The announcement was made in English almost immediately, but the Chinese people were kept in the dark and were not made aware of the result until a full half an hour later - right before the next fight. The atmosphere turned poisonous and the British girl was booed from start to finish in her next fight because of it.

The point is, this was a shocking decision made by the judges in favour of a Chinese competitor (before appeal), and I suspect it is one of many. Particularly the boxing where it was extremely OBVIOUS that the judges were much more lenient towards the Chinese - this isn't open for debate, it is a fact. I also recall there being a debate when in the gymnastics an American and Chinese girl tied, but the gold was given to China for a technicality. Don't know exactly what happened, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I also find it strange that China won so many medals in sports where the winner is more or less decided by the judges - 13 gymnastic, 1 boxing, 11 diving, 1 synchronized swimming and 2 Taekwondo. That is around 30% of China's total medal haul. I'm not a diving expert, so the Chinese competitors may be streets ahead of the rest of the world, but 7 out of 8 gold medals in the diving is suspicious, no matter how brilliant they are.

I'm not accusing the Chinese of cheating, I just feel the judges feel under more pressure because of the noise and expectation of the home crowd and may be swayed by that, particularly when they make quick decisions such as boxing etc.

However, the home crowd are also providing that edge to the competitors, so fair play to them. America have actually won more medals, but China have pushed themselves that little bit further to make sure the colour is gold.

So overall I don't think they are cheating, but they have had a lot of help from the crowd and a bit of help from the judges.

  12. emily made the single most ignorant remark on all of yahoo answered right there.

What kind of moron makes a stupid statement like that you ask? And immature on that knows diddly squat about sports or Olympics.

She probably cheats all the time at everything though.

  13. Lets just say they would not have gotten away with it if the olympics hadn't been held in their own country. We shouldn't have to show respect to them if they cheated just to win more medals, same would be if roles were reversed and we were in their shoes. The only reason its taking so long for them to come to a true conclusion about the age of some of the Chinese gymnasts is because China won't provide full evidence to prove otherwise. They're obviously covering something up and we should all take note of it. Sooner or later its going to get out that there was something there, whether it be now or sometime down the road.

  14. Some have been saying it for the entire games and kind of spoilt the Olympic section on yahoo.

I hope the next games they have separate gymnastic section so they can all go there and have a whinge no matter which side they are on.

  15. No.  China DID NOT cheat in the Olympics.  Did you hear the latest news?  The IOC dropped the whole gymnast age case because they couldn't find sufficient evidence that the gymnasts were underage.

  16. Well did China admit to cheating? No? Time to drop it.

Note to Emily: You need a checkup. Your stupidity is showing.
