Did civial war saddles (McCellan) have a US stamp or number ?

  1. Some do and some don't.  Some will have a name or letters printed on them.  I have a 1904 and all it has is U.S. stamped on the stirrups and on the cinch.  The one I used for parades before I got mine own had J.W. which was the guy that used it in WWII and who I borrowed it from. I used his saddle and uniform.  Now I have my own it just needs a few more repairs but it is useable as it is now.
