  1. Funny how DEI (aka Dead Engines Inc) hasn't had any engines blow up this year....if this doesn't prove sabotage I don't know what will.

He absolutely made the right choice...Hendrick does not "suck" this year, they just have a little more competition.  When they (Jeff and Jimmie) were focused on winning the Cup last year, everyone else was working on improving their COT package.  HMS will catch up...as much as I hate to say it you can never count out Gordon and/or Johnson.

Would be cool, come Chase time, to see a three way battle between the 24, 48, and 88 all the way to the Cup.

  2. i really don't think it mattered cuz he still sucks anyways

  3. I believe he made the right choice. I do find it interesting that DIE has not had an engine failure this year.

Maybe some day he will return to DEI. maybe some day he will drive the #3 car. Today he is where he needs to be. Witih a great team and 3rd in points waiting to pounce!

  4. No way , he is doing great at Hendrix , and since Hendrix is a brilliant car owner maybe he can teach Junior some lessons and maybe you will see JR motorsports owning a cup team by the end of his career. who was he going to learn that from at DEI , his step mom?

  5. i honestly dont miss seeing him in the old car, i think he has great sponsors with a great number. its all fine by me. also compare his performance now to what it was last year, there is no comparison. he deifnentley made the right decision.

  6. Well, it's pretty obvious he made the right technical decision. How many blown engines has he had this year? How many top 10's? How many DNF's? Hendrick's got the money and the equipment. Every team has an off year, especially after a really good one. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Of course I hated to see him leave DEI for many reasons. But obviously Teresa didn't have the money or didn't want to spend it on Jr. And the fact that she wouldn't consider 51% ownership of his own father's empire speaks volumes. How would you like to come to work in that atmosphere every day?  He sure seems happier.

  7. I think he was right in leaving DEI but should not have gone to Hendrick. There are too many personalities at Hendrick and all the the drivers at Hendrick will soon, if not already, be thinking is one of my team mates getting more attention and better equipment than me.

  8. Compare...not DEI 2007 to Hendrick 2008

Compare Dale Jr. 2007 to Dale Jr. 2008

This time last year he was 13th or so in points eventually on his way to many blown engines & no Chase position.

This year he's 3rd in points and the most consistent Hendrick driver week in and week out, knocking on the door for a win each week.

So I think for him, it was a good move. Its just that Hendrick has slumped so far and JGR has stepped up.

  9. What, can't get over the fact that Mark Martin's driving the 8 now?  LOL

Nah, Jr.'s good where he is.  He's not getting near the engine failures.  I sure would have loved to see him at RCR, though.

  10. He is better off at HMS & doing better & third in points but he does have the same number of blown engines as wins, zero, so unless he wins a race, it's a shame since many of his fans were predicting multiple wins at HMS & yes he top 5's & 10's are good, but a win is better

  11. I don't believe he did wrong.  It was a painful decision, I am sure, to walk away from his father's dream.  I can understand his reasoning though.  AND he is doing better at Hendricks.  But I was never really a Hendricks fan and if he had gone to Joe Gibbs or any of the others...I think I would still be a Jr. fan.

  12. Are you watching the same races I am?  Junior nor Hendrick sucks.  Junior is 3rd in points. Jeff is 8th and Jimmie is 6th.  Casey yea is bringing up the rear.  Jeez Hendrick should just shut the doors, I mean the only have 3 of their 4 divers in the top 10 what a disgusting display of lousy racing.  I mean heck Junior should have stayed at DEI and continued with his DNF's, unhappiness and not making the Chase or winning championships.  THAT makes much more sense. Let's take a look at DEI you have Mark Martin (No offense to him, love the guy) is in 24th, Martin Truex is in 16th, Regan Smith is 31st and Aric Almirola is 48th.  My Lord what was Junior thinking to leave that and go with a Champinship team.  I bet he just kicks himself every day.  Uggh.

    Go Troll elsewhere.

  13. Abso-freaking-lutely he did wrong. Dude, he sold out to his family name to go somewhere else. I just can't picture him and Jeff Gordon and that champion who is a complete cheater as teammates. I puked when he announced he was going to Team Satan. In the process, he lost a fan. I'm sure he lost many more too.

Go Kyle Busch! A driver my little brother can look up to.

  14. no.

of coures he didn't do wrong.

every other race last year he had a blown engine!

how many blown engines has he had this year?

    none.

was he in the top 12 in points last year?

    no.

    what's he in this year?

    3rd.

there's a huge difference in his performance & confidence.

he made no mistake at all.

& just because he hasn't had a win doesn't mean he's not doing that great. he's freakin 3rd in points people! he's doing great with HMS!

  15. No

  16. Of course not.  He is 3rd in points.  His only bad finishes were getting involved in Casey Mears wreck at Cali, getting wrecked by Kyle Busch at Darlington, and getting caught in Sadlers wreck at Dover.  He was running well in 2 of the 3 races and the other was like 15 laps into a race.

DEI has poor quality equipment.  Look at what Truex and Martin have done this year.  They have both been average on their good days.  Why would he want to go back to blown engines in 25% of the races and a poorly setup car in the other 75%?

  17. For one thing Hendrick is NOT sucking this year they Jr. and Jimmie are up front every week.  Jeff Gordon is struggling and Casey always struggles.  Jr. is where he needs to be with no blown engines, no evil step-mother to deal with.

  18. Hmm, seeing as how Jr has almost as many top-10 finishes as Truex,Martin,Almirola,Smith and Menard combined no. Notice how the RCR cars and DEI cars have the same engines but all the RCR cars are top-10 cars, yet the highest guy (Truex, my #2 driver I wish he'd get the h**l out of there) is 15th, screwy huh? Oh BTW the 1 and 8 have blown engines this year, just like last year always seemed to be the 1 and 8.

  19. Yeah he did wrong.  Only because HMS had to get rid one of the sports best, most talented drivers to make room for him.  Dale Jr is just an over-rated cash cow and should have stayed where he was.

  20. I believe he made the right decision.  He was getting nowhere with DEI and he never would.  Teresa was never going to give him the equipment he deserved.  At HMS he has great cars, good people around him and a team owner that cares about his drivers and crew.  He is 3rd in point and is contending for the win almost every week.  The two times he had problem this year was not because of the car but because of other drivers and mistakes they made on the track.  He will get to winners circle real soon.  I may not agree with his crew chief decision all the time but tony Jr is who Dale is comfortable with and they seem to get it right by the end of the race.

  21. Junior made a decision for his future. The full outcome of why he left will not be known.Did he make the right decision, equipment wise yes, personel wise they need help.

Would he go back to D.E.I. no he would not.
