there is some debate as to whether they could.  Anatomically they have the same body type as a cross between a lizard and a bird.  For them to fly their bones have to be hollow and their shoulders have to connect to their wing joint.  For flame they could have had a opening in their jaw that spat sparks which, by eating a flammable rock, could have caught fire and produced flame (like a hinge in the mouth which heated and then sparked)  but this is all theoretically.  The closest to a dragon would be a dinosaur or if talking about a wyvern, then a flying raptor.  But the fire breathing type of dragon, i guess never existed.  to bad.  If you want you could try to mutate one and make a dragon.

No don't think so, they are a legend that got bigger etc, but the BBC did a great documentary on them some time back that really had you thinking they were real.

Oh yeah! I have a pet dragon. But, see, it's not NEARLY as big as the movies & stories portray. No. Mine is the size of a dog. A adult dog. But it's the size of the biggest dog out there. It sort of coughs fire balls. & yes, it can fly. It's my little hunter. It's the perfect vampire pet. ;) If you look on Netflix, you can find a thing the Discovery channel did about them. It's really quite interesting. It's very logical too. If you see it & start wondering why my dragon is so small compared to all the other ones, it's because of the species. Mine just happens that mine is a very uncommon species & they life exreemly long so, you never really find their bones & there for scientists think that all dragons were huge because small drangon bones have only been found once or twice.

Oh yes, ask any Welsh person ;o)  Dinosaurs were the possible origins of ideas about dragons, before paleontologists put a label on them.  But the Komodo dragon is very real.
