i think not cause there were trees all over to prevent the damaging rays from reaching the human population. But now there are no trees at all. How can we encourage people to plant more trees and less buildings?

  1. Yeah they did, although early man was covered in fur and had no desire to tan which probably helped!

There are already lots of projects around the world involved in planting trees, so...looks to me like its already happening!

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  3. Not washing off mud makes an excellant sun block.

  4. Not as much as modern man. There is this thing called the Ozone layer. It shields the earth from the dangerous Ultra Violet rays. With the advent of the industrial revolution, and the gases of machinery the ozone layer has been destroyed and in areas over the Arctic and Antarctic poles there are actual holes in the ozone layer. The holes in the ozone layer allow the UV rays to hit us on the ground. That is why we need to stay indoors, under umbrellas and patio covers and wear sunscreen. The number of skin cancer outbreaks is on the rise due to this increased exposure to UV rays.

Trees produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. Human beings burn oxygen and emit carbon dioxide. Human beings machinery (automobiles, stoves, etc.) also burn oxygen and emit carbon dioxide.  You are right, trees do screen us from the UV rays. In California, USA they encourage a balance between constructing buildings and planting trees. Some environmentalists say that it is the destruction of the rain forests in South America which is produces most of the worlds oxygen which is causing the destruction of the ozone layer.

What we can do is get more aware of GREEN ways of living and working. Solar power, wind power, geo-thermal power, hydrogen engines, etc. do not produce carbon, and actually in the case of hydrogen engines they produce water.  In Japan there is an experimental engine which burns water and produces oxygen!  Educate yourself on the environment and how to educate others on the environment. The products you use and purchase can be contributing to the carbon dioxide levels. Learn which products produce less carbon dioxide. Human beings are the only species which try to control the impact our species has on other species both animal and floral. Other species just live and use up the natural resources until they go extinct. Human beings have brains, and when we use them we can avoid also going extinct. Remember, in prehistory, before there were any human beings or cavemen, there was only the ocean and plantlife and the atmosphere was almost all carbon dioxide. The  plantlife started consuming all of the carbon dioxide and producing oxygen. Then the atmosphere was mostly oxygen.  Slowly the appearance of animal life and cells started to burn up the oxygen and emitting carbon dioxide. We are headed back to having a carbon dioxide atmosphere which is poisoness to animal life, but good for plant life.

  5. Yes and this is the reason why groups of people have different skin colors. People from cold climates where the sun shines only occasionally have lighter colored skin and hair. Those where there is high sun exposure have darker skin and hair. The Celtic people for instance originally came from around the eastern Turkey and had a light olive colored skin. After they migrated into Europe and India their skin and hair changed according to the environmental needs of their new homes. In Europe their skin lightened up to where as adults with little sun exposure it is very light, but in youth and with high sun exposure it tries to darken up again which is the cause of freckles among them. In India they are darker than the average ***** getting sometimes almost black skinned.
